Steel Panther - Feel the Steel

Recorded in January of 2022. We listened to the 2009 album Feel the Steel, by Steel Panther. Knowing very little about what we were in for, we dove in and just had to face the music...so to speak. Join us as Bryn asks for forgiveness and Angie and Emily learn where their respective lines are when it comes to musical parody humor. 

For our return episode we decided to review something we're all familiar with that's celebrating it's 25th anniversary this year! 1998's Moon Safari by Air. Comfortably fitting into the Relaxtronica genre, we had a great time reminiscing as we revisited this old friend

For our 50th episode we've stretched ourselves way out of our comfort zones with Bryn's pick of Jacob Collier's 2020 release, Djesse Vol. 3. Not only did we learn that it's the piano that's out of tune, but we'd need to know a lot more about music theory to scratch the surface on what he's doing. On this episode we listen to one of Angie's picks that she took right out of a Heineken beer commercial, she thinks....Gin Wigmore's 2011 album Gravel & Wine. This New Zealand artist has a voice as powerful as the landscapes of her home country, although these days you can find her in Palm Springs running a hotel, and hopefully destroying on karaoke night in the hotel's lounge, but that's just us dreaming. Emily comes back to join Angie and Bryn as we establish our new normal with the three of us, and brings her first album choice to the pod with Broken Bells' 2014 sophomore album, After the Disco. This week we were listening to the 2016 album Funs Cool by The Prettiots. A one album band that seems to have come and gone too quickly. After talking about how they wanted to revisit these albums since the podcast started, Bryn and Angie have finally let themselves listen to the Canadian phenomenon that was the Big Shiny Tunes compilations.
