IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH - Christianity and Science

Matthew 5:27-3027 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’[e] 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

Christianity and ScienceIn this episode of In Spirit and Truth, Pastor Joseph and Rev. Michael explore the relationship between Christian faith and science, challenging the common assumption that science and Christianity are fundamentally opposed. Rather than seeing science as a threat to faith, they discuss how scientific discovery can point us toward the order, complexity, design, and magnificence of God’s creation. From the incredible precision of the universe to the complexity of life and the laws that govern creation, science continues to uncover realities that raise profound questions about our origins and purpose. Pastor Joseph and Rev. Michael examine why scientific knowledge does not have to diminish faith in the one true God, but can instead deepen our appreciation of His wisdom, power, and creative authority.Join us for a compelling discussion about faith, reason, creation, and the evidence that points beyond the natural world to the one and only true creator, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Mark 1:23-2823 Just then a man in their synagogue who was possessed by an impure spirit cried out, 24 “What do you want with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”25 “Be quiet!” said Jesus sternly. “Come out of him!” 26 The impure spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek.27 The people were all so amazed that they asked each other, “What is this? A new teaching—and with authority! He even gives orders to impure spirits and they obey him.” 28 News about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee.

Romans 8:38-3938 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

In this episode, Pastor Joseph and Rev. Michael confront one of the most pressing questions facing the modern Church: what happens when corrupt doctrine takes root within Christianity? They examine the issue through the authority of Scripture, exploring the nature of sound doctrine, biblical truth, false teaching, spiritual deception, repentance, and the Church’s responsibility to guard the faith entrusted to it. How can Christians recognize corrupt doctrine—and how should the Church respond when teachings that contradict Scripture are presented as truth?

Ephesians 4:29 (KJV)“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”Proverbs 16:28 (KJV)“A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.”Proverbs 11:13 (KJV)“A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.”James 1:26 (KJV)“If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.”Proverbs 18:8 (KJV)“The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.”Colossians 4:6 (KJV)“Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.”Matthew 12:36–37 (KJV)“But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”
