On this week's edition of the podcast Peter and Ronan sit down to discuss another what could have been Presidents Cup for the Internationals as they buckled under the pressure of the Sunday singles allowing the USA to win for the eleventh successive contest. There was also matchplay in Sutton Golf Club as Michael McGeady rounded off the PGA in Ireland season with a victory. The matchplay theme continues this weekend as the PGA Cup takes centre stage at the K Club where Simon Thornton lines out for GB&I against the USA on the South Course.

On this week's edition of the podcast Peter and Ronan sit down to take stock on what a glorious fortnight for Irish golf it has been and for the county of Clare after Lahinch and Doonbeg were the stage for two famous days.Shane Lowry rewrote the narrative of his season with a clinical thumping display of front running as he pummelled the field into submission to win his second Irish Open and his first victory since 2022. Just south in The Netherlands, Leona Maguire also changed the fortunes of her year as she played a key role in helping Europe win back the Solheim Cup with a thrilling win over the USA. The touch paper was lit though by one of sport's greatest comebacks as GB&I downed the USA in Lahinch for their first triumph since 2015.

On this week's edition of the podcast, Ronan returns from EP to sit in the hot seat as Mark dials in from sunny Sligo! The lads react to the KPMG Women's Irish Open at the K Club which kicked off a very busy period of tournaments on the island of Ireland. Ireland will play host to stars of the future and past this week as the Walker Cup in Lahinch and NI Legends in Galgorm Castle takes centre stage while the lads also wax lyrical over Scottie Scheffler and DP World Tour Q-School is in full swing.www.irishgolfer.ieIrish Golfer Event Series 2026

On this week's edition of the podcast Peter and Ronan chat about what appears on the face of it to be an underwhelming Walker Cup after only Stuart Grehan was part of Dean Robertson's ten man GB&I team to face the USA in two weeks. Thomas Higgins and David Howard are both first and second reserves but should Robertson have added one more Irishman to the team? The KPMG Women's Irish Open is also just around the corner and there are a handful of Irish players showing some good signs as we look for a first ever Irish winner of the event at the K Club South Course. On this week's edition of the podcast Peter and Ronan go full county board and dive into what could be done to help plug the talent gap at European level in Irish golf. The lads would like to see some aligned thinking between Golf Ireland and the PGA in Ireland where our aspiring professionals get some tournament exposure at home instead of being thrown into the deep end on the mini tours abroad. We also wax lyrical about Beth Coulter's one and hopefully back to back wins on the LET Access Tour while they give full backing to Leona Maguire's Solheim Cup wildcard selection for next month's contest as she makes her fourth appearance against the USA.www.irishgolfer.ie

On this week's edition of the podcast Peter sits down with Ronan who is fresh off a week in Lahinch for the South of Ireland Championship where a week that started with glorious sunshine turned sour with squally showers and an all Welsh final proving an anticlimax. Meanwhile, GB&I Walker Cup captain Dean Robertson is none the wiser as to which Irish players, if any, he will add to his ten-man squad to face USA in Lahinch this September. On Tour, Leona Maguire and Seamus Power both boosted their seasons with top-10 finishes with Maguire bouncing into the AIG Women's Open on a golf course that should suit her while Power's hopes of earning a full PGA Tour card for next year are looking more promising. We also witnessed a new star arriving as Jackson Koivun put on a clinic to win the 3M Open on the PGA Tour.Visit our website for daily golf news: www.irishgolfer.ieSign up for the Irish Golfer Event Series: www.irishgolfer.ie/events

Peter and Ronan (fresh from Birkdale) are back in studio to review Ryan Fox's Open Championship victory. The New Zealander joined Michael Campbell and Bob Charles in earning a men's major victory with a thoroughly impressive display on the back nine where he reached out and grabbed the Claret Jug with both hands with four birdies in his last six holes and two in his last three. There were also plenty of other storylines and the lads dive in to discuss Bryson DeChambeau, Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry while there are worrying signs for Tommy Fleetwood.🎧 Listen to the Irish Golfer Podcast wherever you get your podcasts🎥 We are also on video on YouTube platforms that support video podcastswww.irishgolfer.ie#IrishGolfer #GolfIreland #GolfPodcast #GolfNews

On a day where the major championship scoring record was equalled twice, day two of the Open Championship was all about Bryson DeChambeau who was assessed a two shot penalty for inadvertently improving his lie on the fifth. That caused a debacle not seen for many a year and it remains to be seen whether the American will tee it up tomorrow. This was all happening as David Howard narrowly missed out on making the cut and winning the silver medal as Shane Lowry and Rory McIlroy remained on the fringes of contention heading into the weekend.

This week Mark caught up with Stuart Grehan to digest what a week he had just had after claiming the Amateur Championship at Royal Liverpool.Visit our website for your daily golf news: http://www.irishgolfer.ieSign up for our Irish Golfer Event Series: http://www.irishgolfer.ie/events
