National Track & Field Championships Cam Myers set another all-comers 1500m to the national title in 3:29.85, narrowly missing the national record with Oli Hoare second and Adam Spencer in third. In the final moments of the Women’s 1500m Final, Jess Hull was clipped and fell denying her a title, with Claudia Hollingsworth disqualified following an appeal process and Sarah Billings initially bestowed the title, with Abbey Caldwell. Claudia Hollingsworth was subsequently reinstated as the winner of the final.
Peter Bol added a fifth 800m National Title to his name, winning the final in 1:45 ahead of Luke Boyes and Bob Abdelrahim. Abbey Caldwell backed up from the 1500m to win her title in the 800m in 1:58.57, ahead of Claudia Hollingsworth and Sarah Billings.
Jess Hull found redemption in winning the 5000m in 15:13.21 ahead of Linden Hall and Maudie Skyring. Cam Myers backed up to win the 5000m national title in 13:11.66, holding off Seth O’Donnell and Morgan McDonald.
Ed Trippas won the Men’s 3000m Steeplechase in 8:35.29 ahead of Ben Buckingham and Padraigh Heffernan. Cara Feain-Ryan won in 9:35.87 ahead of Brielle Erbacher and Helena Rose Butler. Official Results
Jarrod Osborne ran 2:24:49 and Demi Caldwell in 2:43:24 to each take the victory in this year’s Canberra Marathon. Ed Goddard and Radka Kahlefeldt each won the half marathon. Results Sam Ruthe diagnosed with stress fracture in his leg RNZ Article
