Miles Minnick is a new sensation coming out of the Bay Area, blending contemporary music styles with his faith as a Christian rapper. Growing up in Pittsburg, he overcame a challenging childhood in a single-parent household, becoming a teenage father, and dabbling in the streets. When a chance encounter led him to church, Miles received a message that his purpose was to inspire others through music. Dropping his first single in 1988, Don Cisco might be the Bay Area's first Latino rapper on record. Growing up in the diverse Excelsior District, he gravitated towards hip-hop early during the emergence of West Coast rap, signing major label deals and a management contract with Ruthless Records' Jerry Heller. When that didn't work out, he started dropping independent projects in the Bay Area and started working with the likes Mac Dre, Baby Bash, Jay Tee, Kid Frost, Roger Troutman, and many more. His song "Mamacita" appeared on the Next Friday soundtrack and his single "Oh Boy" with Kurupt and Roscoe was a regional hit. Danny Glover is a legend of stage, screen, and the frontlines of social change. Tracing his family's roots back to his great-grandmother's experience as an emancipated slave, his grandparents' work as sharecroppers, and his parents as organizers within the post office, activism runs in Danny's blood. The 1968 student-led strike for Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State University led him to acting when the poet Amiri Baraka recruited him for revolutionary theatre. From working on the stage, he made the transition into films and became a certified star with the Lethal Weapon franchise. Coming out of Merced in the Central Valley, GB aka Getto Boy is putting on for his hometown in a major way. The child of Mexican immigrants, he fell into gang culture but turned his life around during a prison stint when he became a father behind bars. Turning to music to express himself, GB received instant recognition after dropping his first music video. This led to attention from rap fans and labels in Northern California, and he's been dropping music ever since. He also developed his own clothing brand and gained recognition from the city of Merced and California State Assembly for his community philanthropy. But this made him a target for law enforcement, and he was caught up in a massive gang sweep that tried to overshadow his community spirit by defaming his reputation.
