What if Republicans losing the 2026 midterms is actually the only way to finally break free of the failed cycle of GOP-controlled opposition politics? The good news is that this question is only academic because Republicans are going to get crushed no matter how much the core base turns out. Today, I argue that we’ve reach the breaking point whereby we are being asked to defend a man and a party that are producing negative political and policy results while simultaneously preventing the development of a new movement. I ask the provocative question: Is it actually better for Republicans to lose — and finally force conservatives to build something new? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
