Gremlins is certainly responsible for traumatizing a generation of 80’s children whose parents thought it was a silly movie about a little furry animal. Akira Kurosawa's High and Low (1963) is a film that is as instructive as it is entertaining. It’s a classic police procedural that flexes Kurosawa’s directorial prowess, especially in its staging and blocking. The film keeps its tense atmosphere throughout and pays off with an excellent conclusion. Do the Right Thing (1989) is a true classic of American cinema, capturing New York in the 1980s and the racial tensions of the time. Not only does it capture the time and place, its messages echo into modern times. Live from New York City, Cameron and Juzo review two recent releases in this extra long episode. Weapons (2025) is the latest film from Barbarian director Zach Cregger starring Julia Garner and Josh Brolin. Weapons is a thrilling horror movie about a class of children that suddenly go missing. It has twists, turns, and well written and realized characters.   Starting at 1 hour 59 minutes we also review Highest 2 Lowest (2025), Spike Lee's newest feature film. A remake of Akira Kurosawa's High and Low (1963), Highest 2 Lowest is the first collaboration between Spike Lee and Denzel Washington since Inside Man (2006). It’s been a long time coming for this show, but JFK (1991) is a cult classic in every sense of the term.
