🚨 Tenant Laws Have Changed 🚨
“No grounds” evictions are gone.
Landlords can still ask tenants to vacate — BUT they now need a valid reason + evidence.
Here’s what counts:
✔️ Selling the property (must show contract/agent letter)
✔️ Major renovations (proof required)
✔️ Landlord/family moving in (stat dec can be used)
⏰ Notice period = still 90 days.
📑 Tenants can now contest the notice at NCAT if they believe it’s invalid.
👉 Bottom line: nothing much has changed except the paperwork.
But it’s now more important than ever to have a professional property manager on your side.
