Using Physical AI as the Orchestration Layer for Hospital Logistics with Amir Nardimon deliverz ai
Amir Nardimon, Founder and CEO of deliverz ai, has developed a vendor-agnostic orchestration platform that manages autonomous robots and human transporters through a centralized system to reduce delivery times and optimize operations in hospital environments. This approach emphasizes human-robot interaction and identifying the unique environment of each hospital. Logistics directly impact patient care and outcomes, nursing efficiency, administrative burden, and resource use, so they require predictable, accurate information and action to support the hospital's core mission.
Amir explains, "Hospitals, in general, are a very chaotic environment. First of all, there are a lot of items moving back and forth from point A to point B. Most of it is handled manually today, from actually getting from point A to point B with whatever you are carrying to the audit trail, which is usually notebooks and just writing down that it arrived at some point in time. And the fact that most of the corridors are very human-dense environments, with people on the spectrum from very happy to very sad or very angry. For us, dealing with the hospital environment and proving that we can do what we promise to do- which is the orchestration layer and the optimization and bringing efficiency into the hospitals in that environment- makes us very confident that we can bring it anywhere that deals with these kinds of challenges, from industrial to other verticals, mainly any vertical that has something moving from point A to point B."
"I think, historically, hospitals have been doing great jobs digitizing the entire EMRs, and they have good technology right now that can tell you that the medication is ready or the specimen is ready. But at the end of the day, it actually needs to move from one place to another in a reliable, predictable way in that chaotic, ever-changing priorities and SLAs. And for us, understanding that, we need to look at the bigger picture. It's not just actually moving things from A to B, but actually understanding what needs to move, when it needs to move, who needs to move it, and how it is actually being moved."
"If it's autonomous robots transporting logistics personnel around the hospital, or any other autonomous vehicle that will be introduced, from drones to whatever is next, it's the realization that you need a top-layer orchestration intelligence platform that can actually understand it. It needs to be the brain of the hospital so everything is predictable and frees up staff time when it's needed."
