Instagram: @TheLauraOrrico @LauraOrricoPR Laura Orrico, Long-time SAG-AFTRA TV and Film Actress and Founder/President of Laura Orrico Public Relations, LLC has taken her personal journey of being a young widow, caregiver, and resilient entrepreneur and turned it into a model of inspiration. As she shares her story, Laura offers hope and valuable tips to others facing similar challenges.
In the prime of her career as an actress, Laura’s beloved husband, Ryan, was diagnosed with a brain tumor, Laura slowed her advancing career to devote her time to being a caregiver. In 2015, after an 8-year battle with brain cancer, Ryan passed away and Laura had to take significant steps forward. Laura was determined to carry on in his memory and honor his wishes for her to thrive and live life to the fullest after his passing.
Laura’s loss propelled her into a new business venture and it was on her late husband’s birthday that following year when Laura established Laura Orrico Public Relations, LLC.
Just recently celebrating its 8th anniversary, LOPR has since blossomed into a nationally recognized, boutique PR firm based out of Chicago – representing established and high-profile clients across the country, from celebrities, feature films, TV shows, recording artists, and authors to political figures, non-profits, restaurateurs/chefs, and businesses.
The PR firm was a blessing for Laura, as she didn't know what her next steps would or "should be" after the loss of Ryan. She broke all the rules after losing a spouse – people told her not to buy a home, start a business, or get into a relationship within the first year – she did all of the above!
Laura continues to act, while simultaneously managing her thriving business. She has channeled all milestones into every aspect of her life and career – she hopes to inspire others experiencing tragedy to move forward.
In addition to Laura’s work as an actress, with roles in Kevin Can Wait, King of Queens, CSI: Miami, and many more – she has also gained notable recognition and coverage in numerous publications such as USA Today, Daily Mail, Forbes, GREY Journal, StarCentral, and a recurring presence on NTD News just to share a few.
