This week we're joined by Ed Bracher, Chief Executive of Dogs For Good, the Charity that helps people overcome isolation, build confidence, and live more independent lives with their dogs trained as a perfect match.Talking about new figures from the Charity’s Creating Possibilities Impact Report, it revealed after accessing the Charity’s services 93% felt more confident leaving the house, 89% became more independent when getting out and about and 92% reported an improvement in their mood. We’re joined by Andrew Hale, certified canine behaviourist and emotional wellbeing expert at Pet Remedy.  We’re chatting about why the company has teamed up with Companion Animal Wellness to launch a new service called Ask the Professional, designed to guide dog and cat owners to accredited trainers and behaviour experts. Helping to guide them with affordable access to experienced, qualified behaviour professionals offering humane, welfare-centred guidance. It's intended to provide clarity and early support helping families understand what their pets are communicating before difficulties escalate. The aim is to counter the concerning increase in misinformation and a worrying trend to use force and punishment methods to train and rehabilitate, rather than a kinder force free and positively orientated approach. We’re joined by Kailey Mills talking about her Hearing Dog, called Buster, a stunning black Cocker Spaniel who has literally transformed her life. After Kailey became deaf, she felt that her dreams of working in engineering were over as everyday tasks were a challenge. After the long wait to receive her Hearing Dog from the charity Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, Kailey’s life turned around. As a deaf and dyslexic mother of three who once believed engineering was "not for people like her" she talks about the assistance dog helping her thrive in a career she never thought would be possible. Kailey, an EICA Design Engineer at Stantec, spent years as a stay-at-home mum before returning to education in 2019. She went on to graduate with a First-Class Honours degree in Electrical and Automation Engineering and is now working towards Chartered Engineer status.
