Quantum computing relies on quantum physics for computational power and computes much faster than classical computers. At the same time, it poses a risk to key cryptographic algorithms we depend upon for the safety of our digital world. Cryptocurrency has become the favored tender for ransomware groups. Because of the intricacies of blockchain technology, it is often difficult for law enforcement to trace criminals who demand cryptocurrency payments.
