Part 1:
We talk with Alex Sammon, feature writer for Slate.
We discuss the increasing use of surveillance in the lives of US residents. The most interesting aspect now is surveillance of customers, with the presumption of massive "organized retail crime" supposedly being committed. The numbers don't hold up.
Part 2:
We talk with Mark Sappenfield, writer for the Christian Science Monitor.
We discuss the difference in the way that sports are introduced to children, and how sports are used in different countries. The contrast between the approach used in the US vs. the approach used in Norway is glaring. The outcomes in how people react to this is enormous in terms of satisfaction and happiness measured in these two countries.
