
Jailed For Asking Questions: Trump's Criminalization of Journalism
Last week in Villarreal v. Alaniz, the Supreme Court declined to uphold a journalist's free speech rights after she was arrested for asking questions of local officials. Yesterday, Trump threatened to put a journalist in jail who had published information about a US airman in Iran. At the Pentagon, a few far right nut jobs are all that's left of the Pentagon press corps. The Trump regime will continue criminalizing journalists because they know how essential good journalism is to the functioning of a democracy.
