Seahawks vs Chiefs: Week 7 Game News, Notes, and Top Predictions

The Seattle Seahawks are set to play on Monday Night Football, and their opponent just made a blockbuster trade of their own to counter the acquisition of guard Quenton Nelson. Bears fan and Bootleg Football/Bear Era co-host EJ Snyder explains why Caleb Williams looks like a different quarterback in Year 2 of Ben Johnson's offense, and why that should worry our Seahawks. Will Kyle Monangai play, and will Johnson ever stray from the run when it gets tough? EJ also breaks down what Simmons brings to Chicago, why Jaxon Smith-Njigba against the Bears' struggling outside corners is a nightmare for any defense, and whether a Devin Bush revenge game is coming. Then Michael Henrichsen of the 80s cover band Nite Wave joins to preview the band's set at the Seahawks' official tailgate at the WaMu Theater (2:30 to 3:30 p.m. before kickoff), tell the story of how a birthday-party stunt landed Billy Idol and share what it was like to be the Kraken's emergency goalie. He also gives his take on the Jonathan Taylor trade rumors and why he feels great about this team. Join our Sea Hawkers Podcast Pickem League - free prizes for weekly winners. The Seattle Seahawks (4-3) host the Chicago Bears (5-2) on Monday Night Football, and both teams just traded for a lineman who could swing the night: guard Quenton Nelson for us and defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons for Chicago. The Bears are coming off a 30-24 win over the Patriots, and Ben Johnson's offense looked as dangerous as advertised. We look at the Bears who could pop up and be a nuisance and talk about which matters more in the run game, quality or quantity? There's also a floor-and-ceiling look at Darnold and Caleb Williams, a round of quick-fire match-ups (the Fridge versus the Boz), and a hard look at how Ben Johnson might attack Devon Witherspoon and Nick Emmanwori. Our wishes include two Seahawks interceptions and three or fewer interior pressures on the new-look line, plus a stacked batch of wishes from the Flock. The Seattle Seahawks are coming off their 20-3 win over the Kansas City Chiefs and looking ahead to a Monday Night Football showdown with the Chicago Bears and Ben Johnson's red-hot offense. The defensive performance was exceptional and Nick Emmanwori's and Tyrice Knight both played a big role. Jaxon Smith-Njigba's start to 2026 is unmatched in the Super Bowl era. We did into how the offense found its rhythm nearing 70 percent conversion rate on 3rd down. It's was the best conversion rate so far under Mike Macdonald. Should Fleury get some of the credit, and does "run, run, pass" deserve more respect? Next comes the offensive line puzzle after the Quenton Nelson trade: where Grey Zabel, Jalen Sundell and Anthony Bradford fit, and whether Mike Macdonald is running a disinformation campaign. Maybe the answer is easier, and ultimately less disruptive, than we all expect. We also size up Caleb Williams, Luther Burden and the Bears' defense. A reluctant thank you goes out to the Falcons, as we ponder what the 49ers' first loss means for the NFC West. Finally, Do Better goes to Klint Kubiak's fourth-down gambles and the Chiefs latest signing on special teams. The Seattle Seahawks sent a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick to the Indianapolis Colts for All-Pro guard Quenton Nelson. We break down what Seattle gave up, why Nelson reportedly favored the Seahawks and who ends up being the odd man out along the o-line. Is the best five on the offensive line the obvious one, or could Zabel be snapping the ball after the bye? Then we go back to the film from the Seahawks 20-3 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, with a plethora of INs and one OUT. We talk about the duo block, gap integrity, Derick Hall setting the edge, Nick Emmanwori everywhere, George Holani in space and Jaxon Smith-Njigba getting open through pre-snap motion. We also hand out the MVC, read the Flock's own ins and outs and talk about what Seattle does next before the trade deadline. Is a pass rusher or a tight end the next big move? Our Seattle Seahawks stuffed the previously undefeated Kansas City Chiefs 20-3 on Sunday Night Football. This Seahawks defense was so strong that Patrick Mahomes never even got into the red zone. Kenneth Walker came home in a Kansas City uniform and was held to 36 yards on 14 carries, while Emanuel Wilson ran for 100 yards and a 21-yard touchdown. We start the show talking about a defense that played generationally great, from Byron Murphy and a relentless front to Tyrice Knight, Ernest Jones and a Nick Emmanwori who did a little bit of everything. Then we get to Jaxon Smith-Njigba's 150-yard night, Brian Fleury's offense converting 11 of 16 third downs, the Barnyard's return and what Anthony Bradford did for the offensive line. Rashid Shaheed and Charles Cross both left with injuries, and we react to the 49ers falling to the Falcons, answer Super Chats from the Flock and look ahead to the Bears on Monday Night Football. Our 3-3 Seattle Seahawks host the Kansas City Chiefs tomorrow and Zach Charbonnet is out after three straight full practices. Are the trade rumors hogwash, and what does the backfield look like behind Emanuel Wilson? Nick Emmanwori's hip, Demarcus Lawrence, Uchenna Nwosu and another game without Thomas leaves us wondering about the defense, while Anthony Bradford is back at right guard to help protect Sam Darnold. We take on a viewer's case for Drew Lock over Sam, run through the Chiefs' injuries, and look at why Jaxon Smith-Njigba could be the biggest problem for Steve Spagnuolo's blitzing, man-heavy defense. Then we go around the league with the rooting guide, check the Pick 'Em League standings, and work through this week's Blue Friday Bets, from Jason Myers' field goals to a Cooper Kupp long shot.  Join our Sea Hawkers Podcast Pickem League - free prizes for weekly winners. Kenneth Walker is coming home to Lumen Field, and our 3-3 Seattle Seahawks get a second shot at taking down an undefeated team. It's almost annoying how simple it sounds: hold onto the football, and we win the game. Was last season's run game all Kenneth Walker? We take a look back at the run game that we need to return to. Can Anthony Bradford's return help get the offense moving again? Or will Chris Jones make Bradford look like the guy we all remember from early last season? We dig into how Charles Cross handles George Karlaftis and whether Jaxon Smith-Njigba can keep torching a Chiefs secondary that hasn't seen anyone like him. Then we go through the trade board, from Jonathan Taylor and Khalil Mack to Riq Woolen (really?), and ask if a win or a loss on Sunday changes anything at the deadline. We also celebrate the Rams' freefall, root against the Niners, and wrap up with a rental-car billing nightmare, a Dodgers ball-catching controversy and Airbnb chores.  Join our Sea Hawkers Podcast Pickem League - free prizes for weekly winners. The Seattle Seahawks are 3-3, the Kansas City Chiefs are 5-0, and Sunday Night Football is heading to Lumen Field. Can we bottle up Kenneth Walker, our former Super Bowl MVP, now carrying the load for Kansas City? Who shines brighter under the lights, JSN or Walker? We break down how close Sam Darnold has to be to Patrick Mahomes on pressures, turnovers and passer rating, whether our edge rushers can finally feast on a banged-up Chiefs line, and what Zach Charbonnet's return could mean on third down. We also read your wishes from the Flock and lock in our score predictions. The Seahawks vs Chiefs matchup brings major questions and one big theme. Will K9's bite haunt the Seahawks? The Seattle Seahawks are 3-3 after a 17-14 overtime loss to the Denver Broncos, and the question hanging over the Flock is whether we can still be a special team. We went back to the tape and found a LOT to love: a stunt up the middle that nearly turned into a pick-six, and Byron Murphy shrugging off a double team like it was nothing. We also found the stuff that still has us upset days after the game, from a pass-pro breakdown on Grey Zabel's pull to a soft zone on a crucial third-and-eight. Is Brian Fleury the problem, or does a brand new offensive coordinator need more than six games and some help at running back? We dig into the latest Rams' injury news, read your comments from the Flock and kept one eye on the 49ers and Commanders as that game played out on the other screen. The Seattle Seahawks are 3-3 after an overtime loss to the Denver Broncos, and many in the Flock are asking the same question: does Sam Darnold suck now? Some want Drew Lock. Some of us want patience. We all want answers! So we lined up six possible culprits (an injury, an age cliff, a collapsed run game, a regressing O-line, our offensive coordinator, and plain old random variance) and put each one under the microscope with the interception numbers, the pressure rates and the tape. Is Sam cooked, or is something bigger broken around him, and how much of it can actually be fixed? The Kansas City Chiefs are next, and we've got a mini bye to get this right.  Join our Sea Hawkers Podcast Pickem League - free prizes for weekly winners. Support the show Get in the Flock!
