Seahawks vs Broncos: Week 6 Game News, Notes, and Top Predictions

The Seattle Seahawks remain winless at Mile High since 2006 after a TNF loss vs the the Broncos. Jaxon Smith-Njigba put on another clinic, but Sam Darnold couldn't take care of the football when it mattered most. Our defense held Bo Nix to 107 passing yards and kept handing the offense chances, but two Sam Darnold interceptions, a Rashid Shaheed fumble, a missed field goal, and a handful of drive-extending penalties were too much to overcome. JSN was basically the whole offense with 12 catches for 134 yards. We dig into the run game without Zach Charbonnet and Jadarian Price, a rough day for our offensive line, and whether Brian Fleury's play calling is the problem or just a symptom. Is it time to talk about Drew Lock or Jalen Milroe, or do we trust Sam to fix this? At 3-3 with a long week ahead, the questions only get louder.  Join our Sea Hawkers Podcast Pickem League - free prizes for weekly winners. Support the show Get in the Flock! The Seattle Seahawks are about to kick off against the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football, and we're fired up! Denver is missing Pat Surtain II and Talanoa Hufanga, so how much does a banged-up secondary open the door for Sam Darnold and our passing game? Our own inactive list has a big one, too: Drake Thomas is out, Tyrice Knight steps in, and we weigh what we gain and what we lose at linebacker. Is Zach Charbonnet's return really around the corner, and just how excited should we be on a scale of one to 12? Finally, our picks: from Bo Nix's completions to Jaxon Smith-Njigba's catches and a longshot look at how many points could go on the board.  Join our Sea Hawkers Podcast Pickem League - free prizes for weekly winners. The Seattle Seahawks head to Mile High to face the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football, and our offense badly needs to start soaring. It's a short week, so there's no time to dwell on that loss to the 49ers. We map out what has to go right: slowing down Zach Allen and Nik Bonitto, finding yards in the run game with Zach Charbonnet still out, and getting Jaxon Smith-Njigba free against a banged-up Denver secondary. Can our offensive line hold up, and does Sean Payton, back to calling the plays for Denver make this offense scarier? We also read the wishes from the Flock, make a few wishes of our own, and lock in our score predictions. A win gets us to 4-2, and we'd love to see it happen in style under the Thursday night lights! The Seattle Seahawks dropped a 32-29 heartbreaker to the San Francisco 49ers, so what is the real problem with our Seahawks? We asked the Flock in a YouTube poll (Sam Darnold's turnovers, O-line regression, JSN or bust, or a running back room we can't trust) and then went straight to the tape. Why did Sam stare down a double-covered Shaheed with Barner wide open? And why on Earth did we run a wide zone play from our own four with the half winding down instead of just taking a knee? We also break down one of the runs from a three tight end set that worked before we ditched it. There were some nooks and crannies to get into with Nehemiah Pritchett's interception that had us wondering about his low snap count. Plus, Byron Murphy's two-sack day, Mike Evans' best trash talk of the afternoon, and the Dre Greenlaw headbutt aftermath. Two losses by a combined five points and a pile of turnovers has us asking one thing. Can this get cleaned up by Thursday night in Denver? The Seattle Seahawks lost 32-29 to the San Francisco 49ers, and our Seahawks gave this one away! Four turnovers, a fumble that never should have happened before halftime, and a last drive that stalled at midfield. How do you give up that many easy points and still have a shot at the end? We break down Sam Darnold's turnover problem, Byron Murphy's monster day, Mike Evans torching Josh Jobe, and the Cooper Kupp fourth-down spot everyone is asking about. We also get into when it really would be time to call for Drew Lock, and whether a healthy run game fixes this offense. The 49ers are two games up in the NFC West now, but this Seahawks defense is still for real. Can we flush this one and get right on a short week in Denver? The Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers at Lumen Field tomorrow, and we're taking a look at the injury report before game day. Leonard Williams has no injury designation after coming out of the game with an ankle injury and Ty Okada is set to play. We finally get both starting safeties on the field together! The Niners? They're without Nick Bosa and Kyle Juszczyk, and Upton Stout is a question mark in the middle of the field. So is this really a new 49ers offense just because Mike Evans? We aren't buying it, and we'll tell you why. Plus, the Marvin Harrison Jr. trade news out of the NFC West, the Rams and the Myles Garrett mess, who backs up Emanuel Wilson if George Holani can't go, our rooting guide for the rest of the NFC, and a betting slate that comes with a long-shot. Our bets have been rough so far. Can we turn it around this week? Join our Sea Hawkers Podcast Pickem League - free prizes for weekly winners. Support the show Get in the Flock! The Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers this Sunday, and this one's a big game! The Niners are undefeated. Our Seahawks are the champs. So who proves it? We go through six "prove it" questions on this week's show. Can our run game be a positive influence? Can our pass rush get home against that top-ranked O-line? Who still has a lot to prove? What does Sam Darnold need to improve? Which pass-catching group is the best in the game? And how do our DBs make the Brock Purdy MVP talk look a little presumptive? Finally, we read your wishes from the Flock, make our own (a Devon Witherspoon sack, anyone?), and lock in our final score picks. The Seattle Seahawks host the San Francisco 49ers this week, and we can't wait to destroy the delusion that is fueling the Niners fanbase. Are the Niners really that good? Or have they just feasted on a soft schedule? We break it all down. Our offense is still near the bottom of the league on third down, there's real running back panic after the Jadarian Price injury and the Joe Mixon attempted signing, and it appears that letting Kenneth Walker walk was a mistake. Have you heard that Brock Purdy hasn't been sacked yet? There's a reason for it that we get into and it's not likely to remain true past this weekend. Nick Emmanwori and Devon Witherspoon are set up for a monster day against this dink and dunk offense. Tune in for our predictions, a few division-rival hot takes, emails from the Flock, and our Do Better and Better at Life. Is this a must-win? The Seattle Seahawks beat the Los Angeles Chargers 30-23 to move to 3-1, but a bunch of you are already asking the same question: do we have a Brian Fleury problem? So we went to the tape. Thirty points. Three games in a row. Is that really a problem? On offense our wide zone looked great when it was clicking, Defensively, Drake Thomas played football exactly the way we like to watch it, and on special teams Jason Myers had a couple of kicks that had us fuming. Add in a Nehemiah Pritchett pass breakup, a preview of what life without Leonard Williams would look like, and one Sam Darnold third-down stretch that was straight-up not good. As usual with 3 IN, 3 OUT, even in victory we have to sprinkle in some of the bad along with a lot of the good things we saw on Sunday. The Seattle Seahawks offense was scoreless in the fourth quarter as the defense gave up 10 points to make it an all-to-close finish against the Los Angeles Chargers. The 30-23 victory moves the Seahawks to 3-1 ahead of next week's divisional matchup with the undefeated San Francisco 49ers. We go through Sam Darnold's game versus the Chargers defense, some of the throws he missed and what we saw from the interception that started his day. Despite the early turnover, it was three turnovers by the Seahawks defense after that moment that helped swing the game in Seattle's favor, particularly the forced fumble my Uchenna Nwosu that helped seal the win. And, yes, we also talk about the penalties that seemed like a bigger part of the game than the actual football we saw in between the flags.
