Senate Republicans voted on Thursday morning, following an overnight marathon session, to approve a budget measure setting up funding or ICE and Border Patrol, without Democrat support. The measure instructs committees to begin drafting a bill to authorize $70 billion in funds while bypassing a filibuster. This could also pave the way for House Republicans to pass the bipartisan bill already approved by the Senate to fund the rest of Homeland Security.
