RHOSLC’s Apology Roulette, RHUGT Heads To NYC, & Grading Next Gen’s First Reunion

This week, Dylan is joined by Antonia Hylton who you may recognize from MS Now to talk all things Housewives, reality TV, and why Bravo might actually be one big sociological experiment. They get into why RHUGT proves the OG Housewives still have it, the lasting impact of Nene Leakes and classic RHOA on pop culture, and why those early Atlanta years still hit harder than almost any other era. Then, they break down Karen Huger’s place on RHOP, why she & Gizelle are the pillars of Potomac, and why Salt Lake City doesn’t need Jen Shah to come back. Plus, they discuss the staying power of Real Housewives, the difference between Housewives and shows like Love Island, and why reality TV can tell us more about culture, relationships, and friendship dynamics than people give it credit for. It’s been a whirlwind week in the world of reality TV, but Dylan is back to break it all down. He starts with some quick takes on the recent episodes of RHOC, where Vicki’s situation seems darker than we realized. Meanwhile on RHUGT, she’s whooping it up, and Luann is on everyone’s last nerve. Plus, the RHOM cast makes another compelling case for being taken off pause. Then, Dylan discusses the cast announcement for next season of The Traitors, and digs into some initial opinions on the current Traitors: New Blood season. Then, he dives deep on RHOSLC, including our abrupt introduction to new friend Quai, and Whitney and Heather’s cornucopia of questionable apologies. Later, it’s time to talk about the Next Gen NYC reunion, and how real world drama might impact the show’s next season. Dylan welcomes back Michelle Collins to catch up on everything from Big Brother, RHOSLC, and Below Deck Med. They get into why RHOC feels like it’s missing the juice this season, Vicki’s less-than-fun energy on RHUGT, and Nene’s return to the Bravo universe. Then, they turn to RHOSLC and discuss Bronwyn’s new single era, whether she could come back a little too confident, and how Heather’s role in the group has shifted over the years. Plus, Michelle makes the case for why it may be time for Big Brother to move on from Julie Chen, breaks down her current Below Deck obsession, and tries to convince Dylan to finally start watching again. He also breaks down this week’s episode of RHONY, where Jessel puts her foot in her mouth, and Carole makes her long-awaited return. Erin Lichy joins Dylan to talk all things RHONY as the show kicks off a brand new season. She opens up about the shifting dynamics with Jessel, why their friendship hit a rough patch, and what really went down during RHUGT. Erin also shares why Carole Radziwill fits so naturally into the new cast, how Lindsay Hubbard became a sounding board while she was filming, and why she feels more comfortable than ever saying exactly what she thinks. Plus, she talks about the new Housewives joining the group, where she stands with former cast members like Brynn, Jenna, Ubah, and Raquel, and why she already has plenty to get off her chest at the reunion. Another week has come and gone, and Bethenny Frankel is at Burning Man. After dealing with that, Dylan shares some thoughts about this year’s Dancing With The Stars cast, before diving into all things Bravo. On RHUGT, the group arrives in Atlanta with some beefs to squash, and Nene Leakes makes her grand return to the network. Over on RHOC, we have more questions than answers about Vicki’s relationship, while Heather is trying to get ahead of potential drama with Carmella. Meanwhile, Shannon and Tamra have taken one step forward and approximately seven steps back. Later, Dylan talks Next Gen NYC, where Ariana and Liam are likely on their last leg, and Emira sets a much-needed boundary with Charlie. Dylan and Chris reunite one final time to break down the Love Island USA Season 8 reunion, which served up one giant nothing burger. Mama’s a liar, Melanie did get the most screen time, Kayda came ready to fight for absolutely no reason, and Sincere seemingly hired a PR team. If he did, someone please pass along their number to KC. Until next season, aloha, Island Time! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

On this Tuesday episode, Dylan is joined by Gibson Johns to break down the current state of Bravo. They start with RHOC Season 20 and why the season is falling flat, whether Bravo may have outgrown Vicki Gunvalson, and why her return on both Orange County and Ultimate Girls Trip just isn’t hitting the way it should. Then, they get into RHOBH casting, Tracy Tutor joining the group, and whether Crystal Kung Minkoff could be ready for a return. (Also FYI, this was recorded just a few hours before the Leah Remini casting announcement so she is not mentioned for they are not psychic.) From there, Dylan and Gibson dive into the RHOA reunion, Porsha’s importance to the franchise, and why Cynthia Bailey may have found the perfect Housewives role. Finally, they look back at the women who have represented Bravo over the years, why Ramona is unlikely to ever be that face again, and what the future of Ultimate Girls Trip should look like, including why Bravo may need to take the concept beyond Housewives.
