Roberto Magro - Fragility

In this episode we talk with Roberto Magro about fragility in circus arts and the beauty of not knowing what's going to happen.  Roberto is an artist, dramaturge, educator and circus director. He has his own company, Rital Brocante and he directed the Flic circus school in Turin from 2005 to 2011. He works as both an educator and director for numerous artists and companies. He was the founder of the Brocante Festival, which brings together established and new artists. In 2013 he took on the artistic direction of La Central del Circ and then, on leaving this position, he returned to his nomadic lifestyle and his work as a creator and teacher. In this episode we talk to Camille Paycha, a Belgian circus artist who was supposed to join us at this year's winter edition with her new creation "Ice skates and other cruelties" where she works with glass in an ice rink.  Camille talks about the strength and fragility of the body itself and how she steps in the tradition of feminist performances using glass to claim their body and vulnerability back, by putting herself in uncomfortable situations of "violence". She also shares her process of creating a political, feminist performance without recreating stigma and prejudice.
