According to Italian news agency, ANSA, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni revealed on Tuesday during a debate at the Italian Senate that, following Israel’s invasion of Gaza in October last year, “the government immediately suspended all new export licences, and all agreements signed after October 7th were not implemented”. Stating that the authorisation of arms export licences are being “analysed on a case-by-case basis by the competent authority at the Foreign Ministry”, the Italian Premier declared that “we have blocked everything”. Meloni also acknowledged that the policies of her government are “much more restrictive than that applied by our partners – France, Germany and the United Kingdom”. Democratic governors were in control of Montana for 16 years prior to Greg Gianforte winning in 2020. Gianforte is seeking another four years for the Republicans, but Democrats are pushing for change. Ryan Busse is running for the position with his Lt. Governor, Raph Graybill. Speaking in Glendive this week, Graybill accused Gianforte of raising property taxes and creating hardships for low-income families. “Greg Gianforte raises property taxes on Montana homeowners by as much as 111 percent. Busse, 54 as of Election Day, spent 25 years working as a salesman for the firearm company Kimber. He left his position as vice president of sales in 2020 and published a memoir, “Gunfight,” criticizing radicalization in the firearms industry the following year. Busse, who was born in Omaha, Nebraska, and grew up on his family’s ranch in northwestern Kansas, has lived in the Flathead Valley since 1995. Busse has said his time in Montana has helped shape his identity as an environmental and conservation advocate. Urban campers will find themselves with a strict new set of rules to abide by in the city of Bozeman in the coming months. Going forward, the commission is expected to formally adopt ordinance 2172, which sets an expiration date on urban camping in the city, and until then gives the city manager full authority to move campers to wherever he sees fit and creates a permit system that includes $25 per month fees. Permits would be granted for up to 30 days, with renewals considered on a case-by-case basis. The ordinance criminalizes urban camping in Bozeman on Nov. 1, 2025. In the aftermath of Donald Trump’s disastrous performance in his first—and perhaps only—debate against Kamala Harris, Republicans kept bemoaning their candidate’s lack of discipline. Instead of talking about inflation or immigration or, for that matter, any basic needs or concerns of ordinary Americans, Trump spent 90 minutes raving about crowd sizes and lying about immigrants eating dogs and cats. “He [is] right on policy but can’t keep to a message,” one House Republican told The Hill. “Many are disappointed he couldn’t stay focused or land a punch.” Staying on message, in other words, isn’t Donald Trump’s deal. But it is JD Vance’s. Vance is already being praised in some circles—particularly on cable news—for his discipline and cordiality. The Supreme Court on Friday rejected a bid to put Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein on the Nevada general election ballot, leaving in place a lower court decision that excluded the party from the vote. The Supreme Court denied a request from the Nevada Green Party to toss out a lower court injunction that blocked its candidates from appearing on the general election ballot. There were no noted dissents. The dispute involving the Nevada Green Party was brought by the Nevada State Democratic Party, which sued in June to challenge the Green Party's access to the ballot. Nevada Democrats claimed the Green Party, a minor political party in the state, used the wrong form to gather signatures to get on the ballot, rendering them invalid. The Green Party had been inadvertently emailed the incorrect form by the Nevada Secretary of State's Office after its original petition contained a technical error. Green Party candidate Jill Stein is facing backlash after a video went viral in which she refused to call Russian President Vladimir Putin a war criminal. In an interview released by Zeteo on Monday, host Mehdi Hasan grilled Stein on Russia's invasion of Ukraine, in which tens of thousands of Ukrainians have died, before alleging that she has not called out the Russian president for attacks on civilians. "We looked at your social media and you haven't done that many posts specifically calling out Russian attacks on civilian areas," Hasan said. "You haven't called Vladimir Putin a war criminal, but you have called Benjamin Netanyahu a war criminal."
