Good Morning CoinDroppers!Today Zach and I are talking about one of my favorite projects for PAX last year as well as a horror franchise I had no idea existed and now very badly want to go play. We ramble a bit about what we think makes a good horror game and of course Zach is on the show so you know we're gonna talk about Runescape at some point. Hope you enjoy the show!Aether & IronAether & Iron is a project I've been following since last September and ahead of their 31 March release the development team has released three dev logs talking about the game. I'm personally really looking forward to this project and if you like narrative choice driven tactical RPGs you should definitely check the game out and consider playing the demo on steam.Remothered: Red Nun's LegacyThe third and apparently long thought abandoned game in the Remothered franchise has been announced. This is a horror franchise I was unaware of and after finding out about it I see a lot of what I love from Resident Evil and Silent hill in the bones of Remothered. I don't know about you, but I'm thinking I'll have to add this to the que.Quick Fire NewsEsoteric Ebb is out now! a hilarious DnD inspired game where you play a Cleric who's bad at his job. Darkhaven's Kickstarter is struggling and at risk of failing. So if you're a fan of ARPGs and the creative minds behind Diablo 1 & 2 consider showing your support.Teardown has released a massive Multiplayer update that looks like chaotic greatness. Loot filters, new uniques, new stash tabs, a new runeword, and new end game content are all available now for Diablo 2 fans! Good Morning CoinDroppers!Today we're discussing the Xbox Dev Direct showcase and more specifically, our first ever deep dive into Fable. It's been a long time coming and this dev direct has given us at CoinDrop a bit more hope for the reboot of this beloved franchise. We're also going to talk about Outward 2 and Chris' first impressions from the play test as well as Darkhaven. A new ARPG from Moon Beast Games and legends in the ARPG genre. So lets get into it!FableIn 2020 Fable gave us our first look at a game that got a lot of backlash for its... Interesting choice in character design. Years later, Playground games said "don't worry we totally have a male protagonist if that's your thing too." CoinDrop pressed X to doubt that statement. Well, YEARS LATER AGAIN! We've finally got a peel behind the curtain at Playground games and I gotta say, everyone at CoinDrop had their interest, and dare I say, hope, reignited. Time will tell if Fable can deliver but we wont have to wait long to find out.Outward 2The sequel to a game I (Karth) famously was not a fan of when the website was around, is conducting a playtest and Chris got in. Outward is a hard game with zero explanation and from what Chris has to say, its sounds like Outward 2 is more of the same. So if you're a fan of soul crushingly hard games (I see you dark souls fans) then you may have a new title to look forward to on the horizon.DarkhavenMoon Beast Games originally untitled game Mike and I talked about last year has a name! A new ARPG that's really going to shake things up (fingers crossed) From legends in the ARPG field, Philip Shenk, Peter Hu, and Erich Schaefer all founded Moon Beast Games and this new ARPG has some serious potential to be the follow up to Diablo II we all really want to see. If you're looking for something new, Cloudheim is a good pick for my survival fans out there.Echoes of ElysiumAnd to follow Cloudheim there's Echoes of Elysium. Another cellshaded survival RPG but this time with airships! Make you wonder...Into The Dead Our Darkest DaysGetting its 7th major update in less than a year Into The Dead continues to improve. It a game we talked about during next fest that is one I've been wanting to play for a while now. The game looks like a stupid amount of fun and blends the car building sim style game with a lot of post apocalyptic charm.Squadron 42Apparently Squadron 42 is complete and launching this year. Don't hold your breath but this could be a hugely impressive game and could signal good things for faithful fans of Star Citizen. With it's single player prequal to the MMO complete, and if it actually releases, this could mean a much heavier focus on the nearly 1 billion dollar game that is Star Citizen. The trailer they dropped for their next game was in a single word fan-fucking-tastic. If you missed it make sure you don't watch it with children present because it's so dark Diablo would be impressed. There isn't a lot known at this time so Zach, Chris, but we brainstorm the setting, and timeline as Larian returns to their beloved franchise.Star Wars Fate of the Old Republica new single player RPG from Casey Hudson original creator of Kotor as well as the Mass Effect trilogy. We're finally getting Kotor 3! Maybe. Eventually. Probably. I'm sure this project wont be canceled and passed off a bunch of times right? Should be fine.Bradly the BadgerFan of Conker's Bad Fur Day? Like video games in general? Then there's something for you in Bradly the Badger. LinusTechTips got to go to valve and put his hands on this thing hand honestly if the price point is right I'll likely be picking one of these bad boys up day one.FateKeeperMike and I discussed our first impressions of this ambitious new project from an indie team during it's debut at the THQ showcase earlier this year and now we have some gameplay. Needless to say I'm sold already. Seeing what a small team of talented individuals can do with the UE5 engine is breath taking and while this IS just a vertical slice I cant help but hope for a true spiritual successor to Dark Messiah.Bloodlines 2 (not even worth linking...)And now for CoinDrop's Biggest Disappointment of the Year award. Vampire the Masquerade Bloodline 2 sweeps this category with it's impressive failure. Falling short of every possible mark in the worst ways the ONLY thing that this game has to hang it's hat on is it's slightly above average voice actors. Honestly this game had so much promise and the desires of an entire fandom for it to be great. Unfortunately, This is a game that needs to just step into the light of the sun and dissipate into ashes.MegaBonk and the GOTY awardsMegaBonk was initially nominated for best breakout indie game when it's mysterious developer specifically asked to be removed. Why you might ask? Well, apparently this isn't their first game. However it is the first game that vedinad is credited for. Well that's what you get with the deceivingly flowery naming of this game. The Florist is another upcoming indie game that looks to bring old school style RE gameplay to the modern age. Lets just hope they didn't carry over the awful tank controls and horrible aiming.I Hate This PlaceAnd to round off our horror game showcase, I Hate This Place is a comic book inspired horror survival game with an Isometric camera and hardcore rocker in this 80s setting cult horror game. Seems dope to me and I'm all for it.Quick Fire NewsPlanet of Lana II was announced, coming 2026Daughter of Voodoo was announced from the solo dev who made Conrad Stevenson's Paranormal P.I and Among the Whispers.Pioner is in open beta on steam.
