What is an Amazon EC2 Instance?  Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) provides scalable   computing capacity in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud.   Using Amazon EC2 eliminates your need to invest in hardware up   front, so you can develop and deploy applications faster.   You can use Amazon EC2 to launch as many or as few virtual   servers as you need, configure security and networking, and   manage storage. Amazon EC2 enables you to scale up or   down to handle changes in requirements or spikes in popularity, reducing your need to forecast traffic.

Amazon S3 or Amazon Simple Storage Service is a service offered by Amazon Web Services that provides object storage through a web service interface. Amazon S3 uses the same scalable storage infrastructure that Amazon.com uses to run its global e-commerce network.

We discuss what what is an Amazon VPC and how it works. Amazon Virtual Private Cloud is a commercial cloud computing service that provides users a virtual private cloud, by "provision[ing] a logically isolated section of Amazon Web Services Cloud". What is the AWS Global Infrastructure? The AWS Global Infrastructure consists of multiple geographical locations which are called Regions. AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) enables you to manage access  to AWS services and resources securely. Using IAM, you can create and manage  AWS users and groups, and use permissions to allow and deny their access to  AWS resources.
