Episode 132 - Malinois Gone Wrong

This was never planned to be a podcast, but I was so s tricked by the questions Fabian asked me, I felt compelled to share it with everyone. Fabian Alvidrez reached out to me to ask me some questions about a journalism project he is doing for TCU, Texas Christian University. His questions were really deep and important for others to hear, so I'm glad he agreed to let me use this Q&A as a podcast. A little about Fabian: Fabian is a senior Journalism major and Kinesiology minor from Texas Christian University. A lifelong outdoorsman who practices fly fishing, traditional fishing, hunting and rock climbing. Before University he worked as a ranch hand for his father who is a horse trainer and raised his brothers and him around live stock. He also served a little over four years as a U.S Marine with two deployments. This is where he was first introduced to Belgian Malinois I hope you'll enjoy this chat and it will provoke more conversation on helping people better understand the Belgian Malinois.

Dave Latham is a legend in the field of British Gun Dogs. He has bred, trained and competed with Labrador retrievers for over 40 years. He has won the prestigious IGL 4 times. Mission K9 Rescue is a great organization that helps military dogs. These dogs need special help to be transported back to the USA and get reunited with their handlers. When it comes time to transporting these dogs Mission K9 steps in. They also help handlers get reunited with their canines and help get Contract Working Dogs back to the USA and adopted. I first met Manny around 2012 when he was working at the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. He asked me to come help him with behavioral programs and some troubled dogs. I obliged and we became friends and over the years he spent several opportunities training with me. Manny is a genuine human being who loves dogs and his passion shows through in his work. He has come a long way from those days, and now runs his own training facility in Palm Springs as well as so much more. I'm really proud of the person he is and has become.
