CRONOS R.I.P - another legend has left the building....

another legend has left the building, Cronos from Venom. Taken way too early. Venom were probably the most important band in my development as young metalhead, the rock upon which the church was built, so to say, so I put some random thoughts together for today's episodeapologies for the slightly odd sound, this was recorded remotelyToday's sponsor is : PROMETHEAN WOLFElite fitness wear....check it out atprometheanwolf.com and use the CODE : AGITATE for free shipping on your first orderthe show is looking for sponsors....if you think this is something you are interested in, get in [email protected] menemtheanga_primordialprimordial_officialon the gramsupport the show over at :https://patreon.com/AlanAverillPrimordial on Spotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/0BZr6WHaejNA63uhZZZZek?si=yFFV8ypSSDOESUX62_0TzQFor info on my work as a booking agent go to:https://www.facebook.com/DragonProductionsOfficialor email [email protected] cds/lps available fromhttps://www.metalblade.com/primordial/my other musical projectsdeath metalVERMINOUS SERPENThttps://open.spotify.com/artist/54Wpl9JD0Zn4rhpBvrN2Oa?si=zOjIulHXS5y9lW1YHMhgTAdoomDREAD SOVEREIGN https://open.spotify.com/artist/60HY4pl0nbOrZA6u2QnqDN?si=sxQ5_1htR6G3WIvy1I_wXAgothAPRILMENhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/7GzLO1YJClmN5TvV4A37MJ?si=cRXSk24lQKWSqJG-B8KbWQSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/agitators-anonymous-the-alan-averill-podcast. After a short two week enforced interlude I'm back, not in the studio for this one but recording remotely. Today's podcast is about Angry Anderson, a true rock n roll legend who passed away during the week. I wonder is it even possible for a band like this to exist in modern society anymore? Genuine working class heroes with a truly menacing air who turned their pub yob rock into an institution that stood for integrity and comradeship, which deeply resonated with people in a way few bands are able to. If a band appeared now claiming the same wouldn't we imagine it was conceit? this and more on today's podcastForgive the slightly different audio!Today's sponsor is : PROMETHEAN WOLFElite fitness wear....check it out atprometheanwolf.com and use the CODE : AGITATE for free shipping on your first orderthe show is looking for sponsors....if you think this is something you are interested in, get in [email protected] menemtheanga_primordialprimordial_officialon the gramsupport the show over at :https://patreon.com/AlanAverillPrimordial on Spotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/0BZr6WHaejNA63uhZZZZek?si=yFFV8ypSSDOESUX62_0TzQFor info on my work as a booking agent go to:https://www.facebook.com/DragonProductionsOfficialor email [email protected] cds/lps available fromhttps://www.metalblade.com/primordial/my other musical projectsdeath metalVERMINOUS SERPENThttps://open.spotify.com/artist/54Wpl9JD0Zn4rhpBvrN2Oa?si=zOjIulHXS5y9lW1YHMhgTAdoomDREAD SOVEREIGN https://open.spotify.com/artist/60HY4pl0nbOrZA6u2QnqDN?si=sxQ5_1htR6G3WIvy1I_wXAgothAPRILMENhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/7GzLO1YJClmN5TvV4A37MJ?si=cRXSk24lQKWSqJG-B8KbWQSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/agitators-anonymous-the-alan-averill-podcast. In today's podcast I ramble across a few different things, being asked "Don't I remember" by ChatGPT....about a conspiracy theory discussion from months before, so wait.....what....it's my own ChatGPT?.....or....was I being gently mocked by the Dystopian future we are about to enter, and then promptly forgot. That and an idea for an app called RE-ANIMATE which could cure loneliness. Send my royalty cheque in the post. Interrupted while day dreaming about a Manowar poster I had when I was 14....I get ambushed into discussing the Manosphere with an old friend, am I in it? is the main thrust of questioning. It was silly, it was serious.....some points were raised, some words were phrased and in the end we both agreed, blanket buzz words = bad, claiming exercise is toxic = bad.....but most of the C U Next Tuesday's involved are little else...Mano-war-sphere......nature abhors a vacuum Today's sponsor is : PROMETHEAN WOLFElite fitness wear....check it out atprometheanwolf.com and use the CODE : AGITATE for free shipping on your first orderthe show is looking for sponsors....if you think this is something you are interested in, get in [email protected] menemtheanga_primordialprimordial_officialon the gramsupport the show over at :https://patreon.com/AlanAverillif you wish to make a one off donation to the showpaypal : [email protected] on Spotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/0BZr6WHaejNA63uhZZZZek?si=yFFV8ypSSDOESUX62_0TzQFor info on my work as a booking agent go to:https://www.facebook.com/DragonProductionsOfficialor email [email protected] cds/lps available fromhttps://www.metalblade.com/primordial/my other musical projectsdeath metalVERMINOUS SERPENThttps://open.spotify.com/artist/54Wpl9JD0Zn4rhpBvrN2Oa?si=zOjIulHXS5y9lW1YHMhgTAdoomDREAD SOVEREIGN https://open.spotify.com/artist/60HY4pl0nbOrZA6u2QnqDN?si=sxQ5_1htR6G3WIvy1I_wXAgothAPRILMENhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/7GzLO1YJClmN5TvV4A37MJ?si=cRXSk24lQKWSqJG-B8KbWQSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/agitators-anonymous-the-alan-averill-podcast. In today's episode I mull over Sepultura's last ever European show, feeling left out in the cold by that corporate arena feeling and why bands choose huge screens with AI imagery over lights and amps, what did Inner Self mean anyway? Recently I was mixing an album and desperately tried to make the studio into a time machine, to take me back to 1984, and failed. Well kinda, sorta.....made it back some of the way then the dials on the DeLorean starting smoking and I ended up more or less where I started. Why is it so difficult to fully re-create that moment? is it simply impossible to create virgin territory, a cultural zeitgeist moment, or is it analogue vs. digital? or is it about gear? This weeks episode is inspired by a week of listening to old demos from the late 80s and early 90s, a chance discussion with Paul from Blood Incantation about why some bands that seemed so vital from back in those days never made it, yet maybe now.....they would get far more respect, or would they? And some ramblings over the idea that our disengagement with the physical process of life, sub cultures, other people and this fast paced content creating living contributes to what we could call an artistic ice age....or is that a stretch, you decide the show is looking for sponsors....if you think this is something you are interested in, get in [email protected] menemtheanga_primordialprimordial_officialon the gramsupport the show over at :https://patreon.com/AlanAverillPrimordial on Spotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/0BZr6WHaejNA63uhZZZZek?si=yFFV8ypSSDOESUX62_0TzQFor info on my work as a booking agent go to:https://www.facebook.com/DragonProductionsOfficialor email [email protected] cds/lps available fromhttps://www.metalblade.com/primordial/my other musical projectsdeath metalVERMINOUS SERPENThttps://open.spotify.com/artist/54Wpl9JD0Zn4rhpBvrN2Oa?si=zOjIulHXS5y9lW1YHMhgTAdoomDREAD SOVEREIGN https://open.spotify.com/artist/60HY4pl0nbOrZA6u2QnqDN?si=sxQ5_1htR6G3WIvy1I_wXAgothAPRILMENhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/7GzLO1YJClmN5TvV4A37MJ?si=cRXSk24lQKWSqJG-B8KbWQSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/agitators-anonymous-the-alan-averill-podcast. In today's podcast I consider the implications that music is now one of the least important parts of promoting an album, what that means for the art form, when was the last time you shared a link to music and not a clip of people talking about music or an old clip of some band from another long gone decade acting out? Where is all headed? that and a mild mannered confrontation between a lazy Irishman and a Swiss stickler for rules.....he show is looking for sponsors....if you think this is something you are interested in, get in [email protected] menemtheanga_primordialprimordial_officialon the gramsupport the show over at :https://patreon.com/AlanAverillPrimordial on Spotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/0BZr6WHaejNA63uhZZZZek?si=yFFV8ypSSDOESUX62_0TzQFor info on my work as a booking agent go to:https://www.facebook.com/DragonProductionsOfficialor email [email protected] cds/lps available fromhttps://www.metalblade.com/primordial/my other musical projectsdeath metalVERMINOUS SERPENThttps://open.spotify.com/artist/54Wpl9JD0Zn4rhpBvrN2Oa?si=zOjIulHXS5y9lW1YHMhgTAdoomDREAD SOVEREIGN https://open.spotify.com/artist/60HY4pl0nbOrZA6u2QnqDN?si=sxQ5_1htR6G3WIvy1I_wXAgothAPRILMENhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/7GzLO1YJClmN5TvV4A37MJ?si=cRXSk24lQKWSqJG-B8KbWQSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/agitators-anonymous-the-alan-averill-podcast. In today's episode I tread out into ankle deep waters of the let's be frank mostly nonsense culture war hysteria surrounding Christopher Nolan's new movie, an adaptation of Homer's "The Odyssey" and consider the argument, should movies be historically accurate, do they owe a debt to the real characters who lived and died to portray them faithfully, or is history just another treasure trove of storytelling with which we can do as we please? Should the realms of fantasy belong to the vision of the original writer or can we interpret them as we see fit? The truth as always lies somewhere in the middle.....the show is looking for sponsors....if you think this is something you are interested in, get in [email protected] menemtheanga_primordialprimordial_officialon the gramsupport the show over at :https://patreon.com/AlanAverillPrimordial on Spotifyhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/0BZr6WHaejNA63uhZZZZek?si=yFFV8ypSSDOESUX62_0TzQFor info on my work as a booking agent go to:https://www.facebook.com/DragonProductionsOfficialor email [email protected] cds/lps available fromhttps://www.metalblade.com/primordial/my other musical projectsdeath metalVERMINOUS SERPENThttps://open.spotify.com/artist/54Wpl9JD0Zn4rhpBvrN2Oa?si=zOjIulHXS5y9lW1YHMhgTAdoomDREAD SOVEREIGN https://open.spotify.com/artist/60HY4pl0nbOrZA6u2QnqDN?si=sxQ5_1htR6G3WIvy1I_wXAgothAPRILMENhttps://open.spotify.com/artist/7GzLO1YJClmN5TvV4A37MJ?si=cRXSk24lQKWSqJG-B8KbWQSupport this show http://supporter.acast.com/agitators-anonymous-the-alan-averill-podcast.
