Wild on 7th - Episode #118: Faceoffs and First Timer Vinnie Hinostroza

Following a "relief" of a win against the Vancouver Canucks, the Minnesota Wild will try to maintain composure over the next 4 games in only 6 days. Ryan Carter and John King connect for this weeks show with a little glimmer of a win in their eyes, after a tough stretch for Minnesota sports fans, let alone a struggling Wild team. The guys break it down, talk about the "players only" meeting spearheaded by Jared Spurgeon, and touch on what it's going to take to maintain a winning level of play. First time guest, Vinnie Hinostroza joins the pod for some amazing stories from both his youth, and his experienced NHL career, both oddly enough, right alongside Ryan Hartman for a lot of it. Special guests Zeev Buium and Lou Nanne join the show to talk about the importance of player signatures and the the current state of USA hockey in the international game. It’s a packed episode you won’t want to miss!

This episode was recorded Tuesday, August 19th — just ahead of the Marco Rossi signing. Carts and King head over to Bill Guerin’s home to dive into all the hot-button topics for the upcoming season. From new dress codes to load management, Billy G isn’t holding back with his takes. Carts and King swing by the TRIA studio for a marathon summer vibe check in the State of Hockey.  The guys talk about their summer plans so far, the never ending trolling feed from the Stanley Cup Champions, the NHL Draft, shaking up free agency, and obviously the vibe check since some major Wild pieces are currently without signed deals.  Can King get any sleep when the kids are out for the night?  I think he'll feel much better when Rossi and Kaprizov "make it home safely," and he can relax.  Hope you can enjoy a wonderful summer pod to hold you over until the Minnesota State Fair.  Details to be announced in the coming weeks.
