Join me on a fungi walk in early September 2026, as I look for mushrooms after the hottest summer southern England has ever experienced.
Summer 2026 was UK's hottest on record, Met Office says: https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/articles/c99dypl3jgmo
In this recording I talk about the fungi found in an area of the Sussex Weald, some of the trees there, and check to see how the drought of summer 2026 has impacted our fungal friends.
The species found include:
- Pale stagshorn
- Russula/brittlegill mushrooms
- Turkeytail
- Ganoderma bracket
- False chantarelle
