In this week's episode, we shine a spotlight on the American Feist, the newest breed recognized by the United Kennel Club. Primarily used for squirrel hunting, the American Feist has quickly made its mark thanks to the efforts of Vance Plante of Lake Luzerne, the breed’s founder and the driving force behind the American Feist Association. Serving as the association’s inaugural president, Plante also helped shape its inclusive and memorable slogan: “All Feist Allowed.” With UKC recognition, the American Feist is now eligible to compete in official Feist events, joining the Treeing Feist and Mountain Feist. This episode explores what that recognition means, how the breed came to be, and the growing legacy of a dog built for the hunt. And because Allen always goes above and beyond for you, in this episode he gives you a step by step walk through of the registration process for your Feist dogs. Welcome to the family, American Feist!
