Alexander Nikishin requested a trade at the end of the season and the request still stands as of Monday's reporting per Pierre LeBrun. The Canes released a statement today that all but marks the end of the Nikishin era in Raleigh. While one era ends, another continues as Jordan Staal signed a 1 year contract extension thru the 2027-2028 season.
