From his early days navigating complex corporate finance to taking the helm of Nepal’s pioneer digital wallet and scaling annual sales from NPR 7 Arab to NPR 26 Arab, this is the unvarnished story of Jagdish Khadka. Over his transformative 4-year tenure as CEO of eSewa, Jagdish led a monumental 500% growth trajectory, scaling the platform to process over 55 Lakh (5.5 Million) daily transactions while engineering Nepal’s first distributed Cassandra database architecture capable of handling national-scale transaction concurrency. In this podcast with Anup Ghimire, Jagdish pulls back the curtain on what it truly takes to run the financial backbone of Nepal: forcing software engineers onto crying customer support calls, viewing public criticism as "Subha Chintak", launching Nepal’s first collateral-free digital loan for visually impaired entrepreneurs, the human psychology behind the 100-Rupee tempo metaphor, and why AI automation will soon make mobile payment apps completely invisible. From her early days as a Fair & Lovely ad model and a student at Army School Kathmandu earning ₹500 at a Bhrikuti Mandap book fair, to Senior Director at MIT RAISE raising $28 Million from Google, this is the unvarnished story of Rupa Laxmi Shah. Over the last 13+ years at the world's premier technology institute (MIT Media Lab / MIT RAISE), Rupa has closed landmark multi-million-dollar partnerships with Google, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Schmidt Futures, and the Hong Kong Jockey Club, impacting over 30 million children globally. In this candid masterclass with Anup Ghimire, Rupa pulls back the curtain on how high-stakes global philanthropy actually works: sitting across tables with over 160 billionaires, the psychology of raising 8-figure checks, the hard research on why AI won’t replace teachers, and why sending generic ChatGPT cold emails is destroying your chances with global investors. Right after +2, in the early 2000s, he left Nepal for Texas to build a life and chase bigger dreams. Two decades later, his company is building the bridges that connect terminal gates at DFW Airport.    Anup Tamrakar didn’t inherit an empire. He started by working at his father’s engineering practice in Nepal, tracing blueprints and even scrubbing bathrooms, long before “CEO” was ever part of the picture. Today, he leads Urban Infraconstruction LLC, a 400-person heavy civil construction company behind major Texas infrastructure like airport bridges, transit lines, and municipal water systems.   Key Milestones: -Scaled to ~400 employees, earning spots on the Inc. 5000 list and recognition as an EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Southwest Finalist. -Founded the Amaalya SK Foundation, committing to fund foundational education for 1 million children in Nepal by 2035.   This isn’t another polished immigrant success story.   Fitness entrepreneur, fitness coach, and the host behind one of Nepal’s influential podcasts: Sushant Pradhan is stepping out from behind the host desk and into the guest seat for this episode!   We sat down for an unfiltered 1 on 1 conversation on what really happens behind the scenes of content creation, media, and networking.   In this episode, we talk about:   -Why being effective on camera is an acquired professional skill rather than an extroverted personality trait -How to build a high-impact network when you naturally despise traditional networking events, parties, and small talk -What separates parasitic networking from symbiotic value creation and why cold outreach fails when you bring nothing to the table -Why young creators need to spend six to twelve months quietly building a portfolio before trying to leverage high-profile connections -How automating an inefficient workflow with artificial intelligence only scales your operational mistakes faster -What the global shift toward open-source AI models means for local media companies and independent builders -Why deep, multi-hour 1 on 1 conversations remain the ultimate mechanism for building trust, influence, and intellectual leverage   Your network isn’t built in noisy rooms handing out business cards; it’s earned through the depth of your work and the quiet value you bring to the table.   If you’re a founder or creator trying to build something that lasts in Nepal’s changing digital landscape, missing this conversation isn’t just an oversight. It’s a missed blueprint.   TIMESTAMPS:   0:00 Highlights 1:50 Intro  9:30 Realization of self worth & self reflection  18:11 How Open Source Is Taking Over 26:40 Sushant Pradhan Keeps up with Geopolitics, Culture & Human Conflict  36:26 How the Host Inspired Sushant Pradhan to Start Podcasting 48:16 The Harsh Reality of Competing in the Global Market 54:52 Is Success Just Borrowed Time From Your Youth? 1:00:38 Creator Economy in 2014: Before "Influencers" Existed 1:10:15 "Making Money Is Making Money" (Unfiltered Advice) 1:17:49 Sushant Pradhan’s perception as the "Fitness Guy"  1:25:10 Rethinking Fitness: Beyond Just Going to the Gym 1:30:37 Sushant Pradhan's Core Philosophy on Life 🎧 Listen on audio platforms: https://www.podbean.com/eas/pb-99yjy-1b1d982    🎤 Host: Anup Ghimire Founder of The Doers LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/anup-ghimire-9366aa5a/     🎙️ Guest: Sushant Pradhan Podcaster & Entrepreneur LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/sushant-pradhan-371b88a7   📲 Follow The Doers Nepal: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thedoersglobal/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thedoersnepal/    🎬 Production Partner: Viewfinders Production Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/viewfindersstudio/     This episode is brought to you by Become a Doer Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/becomeadoer_/  Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/becomeadoer2026/  Website: https://becomeadoer.com   This episode is strengthened by Hama Steels Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/hamaironandsteel/  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/hamasteel/    Our ISP Partner: Vianet Communication Pvt. How Nepali Immigrants Built a Federal Bank in the US | Suman Raj Timsina (CEO, Everest Federal Credit Union) In this episode of The Doers, we sit down with Suman Raj Timsina, CEO of Everest Federal Credit Union (EFCU) and Executive Director at the International Development Institute. EFCU stands as the first and only financial institution chartered specifically for the Nepali diaspora across the United States. Note: Everest Federal Credit Union (EFCU) is a federally chartered, NCUA-insured credit union operating as a full-service community financial institution. Unlike traditional commercial banks driven by outside shareholders, EFCU is 100% member-owned and not-for-profit.   From conceptualizing the credit union in a New York basement in 2015 to securing a rare 50-state federal charter approved by the NCUA, Suman breaks down how community trust transforms into institutional financial power. We dive deep into affinity banking, how the US Nepali diaspora holds an estimated $19B+ in collective economic capacity, why modern banks operate as software enterprises, and how shifting diaspora mindsets from remittance to angel investing can back the next generation of global startups.   TIMESTAMPS: 00:00:00 - Introduction  00:01:23 - Welcome to Dallas & Show Kick-Off 00:02:07 - Establishing the First Nepali Community Bank Outside Nepal 00:02:59 - The Historic Roots of "Affinity Banking" 00:04:10 - Regulatory Approval: The Role of the US Congress & NCUA 00:04:59 - Humble Beginnings: Incepting Everest in a New York Basement 00:05:16 - Unlocking Nationwide Reach with a Rare 50-State Federal License 00:05:46 - The Not-For-Profit Model: Banks vs. Credit Unions 00:06:06 - Democratic Governance: Every Depositor Gets One Vote 00:06:33 - Broad Diaspora Eligibility: Nepal, Bhutan, and Beyond 00:08:31 - Life-Cycle Financial Products: Credit-Building to Mortgages 00:13:35 - Supporting the 10th Largest Foreign Student Population in the US 00:14:48 - Absolute Security: Federal Insurance up to $250,000 00:15:46 - 100% Reinvestment: Supporting Our People, Not Corporations 00:16:57 - Going Global: Opening US Dollar Accounts with Passports 00:18:59 - Replicating the Indian "Bank of Houston" Motel Success Model 00:21:40 - The Trust Test: Raising $3.65 Million in Just 3 Hours 00:23:42 - Modern Banking Shift: "Banks are IT Companies" 00:30:06 - Shifting Diaspora Culture: From Remittance to Angel Investing 00:38:11 - The Reality of BBA/MBA Degrees & The Power of Storytelling 00:55:57 - Beyond Banking: The Life-Saving $2,000 Emergency Loan   Want to become a video podcaster?   What does modern agriculture actually look like behind the scenes?    In this deep-dive episode, we sit down with Brad Doyle, Chairman of the Arkansas Soybean Promotion Board and former President of the American Soybean Association,  operating out of Weiner, Arkansas.  Stepping far beyond traditional manual labor, Brad pulls back the curtain on how multi-million-dollar family farms operate today as high-tech, data-driven global enterprises.  You will discover how tractors drive themselves via precision GPS, how growers utilize complex yield-mapping software, and what happens when practical farming meets Ph.D.-level plant breeding alongside his wife Joyce.   The conversation also tackles the profound economic realities of managing capital-heavy operations, utilizing land and equipment as loan collateral, and navigating global soybean export markets. You will hear firsthand how producers beta-test tomorrow’s heavy machinery hand-in-hand with major engineers like John Deere, while critically addressing the real operational limits of AI integration.    Ultimately, this episode lets you grasp the scale behind 80 million US acres, showing how farmers increase yields and why 97% of American farms remain fiercely family-owned. Whether you are an entrepreneur, an agribusiness professional, or simply curious about where your food comes from, this conversation completely reframes how technology, business, and tradition intersect on the modern farm.   Chapters 00:00:00 Highlight 00:01:35 - Introduction 00:02:45 - The 3rd-Generation Family Farm & Eagle Seed 00:03:19 - When Farming Meets PhD Science 00:06:42 - Surprise: 97% of US Farms Are Family-Owned 00:09:14 - The High-Stakes Business & Profitability of Farming 00:10:30 - Financial Risks, Bank Loans, & Farm Collateral 00:11:39 - The Generational Shift: From Manual Labor to Tech 00:15:26 - How Modern Farms Fuel Local Rural Economies 00:16:06 - Tech Transformation: GPS & Self-Driving Tractors 00:16:31 - Yield Monitors, Big Data, & Off-Season Planning 00:17:43 - The Reality, Limits, and Fears of AI in Agriculture 00:23:49 - Navigating the Global Soybean Export Market 00:31:11 - The Soybean Checkoff System Explained 00:32:41 - The $80M Impact of the United Soybean Board 00:38:43 - Grasping Scale: 80 Million Acres of Production 00:39:14 - How Farmers Increase Yields While Losing Farmland 00:42:02 - Beta-Testing the Future of Machinery with Engineers 00:44:48 - What Keeps a Farmer Up at Night?
