On 30th of October 2025, the Governing Council of the European Central Bank decided to move to the next phase of the digital euro project. The 2 year preparation phase is now completed and work on how to implement the Digital Euro is accelerating across Europe. Barry Harrington Head of Advocacy ILCU is joined by Gillian Phelan, Head of Division, Central Bank of Ireland to discuss what the digital Euro is and how it will work.
