181. Hilary Duff Part 6: Most Wanted

The new Hilary episode is here!! There is so much in this one because girl this era was A LOT. So many changes for Miss Duff during this time, from her music to her relationship with Joel Madden, her appearance, online bullying, feuds, and the downfall of her movie career. As these changes occurred, Hilary and her team struggled to grapple with them and keep up the same old media narratives that had worked previously. If you watch interviews from this era month by month, you see Hilary get thinner and thinner, more and more exhausted and frustrated with the media and the fame she wanted when she was still way too young to know what she was getting into. It's a really fascinating thing to break down, so I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoyed making it!Use code ASHLEEANDJESSICAST for 15% off on https://jessicasimpson.com/ashleeandjessicastMERCH: https://ultimate-fangirl-apparel.printify.me/PATREON Subscribers heard this episode completely ad-free! MY DREAM CAME TRUE!!! I interviewed one of my all time favorite singer/songwriters, JC Chasez of *NSYNC at GalaxyCon last weekend. This episode includes the full, unedited interview as well as my wonderful guests Lizzi and Steph from @thinkingofnsync to help break it all down. They were also two of the lucky content creators that were chosen to have face time with JC so you get their perspectives on that as well including some nostalgic *NSYNC stories, how they went from regular fanpage to interviewing almost the whole group, and more!My series on JC Chasez: Spotify PlaylistMERCH: https://ultimate-fangirl-apparel.printify.me/PATREON Subscribers heard this episode completely ad-free! Well, it's been quite a ride since I asked my favorite band since age 12, Hanson, to do a giveaway with me and they said YES!! In this episode I explain what it's like to go from fan to fan with a platform... surreal. I talk about the 4 Hanson shows and 1 Taylor Hanson show I went to from June-July including the dates we did the giveaway for: July 16th at the Cape Cod Melody Tent and July 19th at the South Shore Music Circus in MA. Hanson was kind enough to not only let me giveaway tickets and meet & greets, but gave some to me too so of course I had to share how life changingly supportive they were when I finally got to thank them for believing in what I do enough to collab with me. Thank you Taylor, Isaac, and Zac!!! This is what dreams are made of, indeed.

Last month, a dream come true! I got to go backstage and interview Jessica Simpson at her show in Pennsylvania. This is the full version of the clips posted on my socials, so for those of you who follow me, it won't be new. I wanted to post it on the podcast feed and also include the behind the scenes of how it all went down and give a little concert review. I hope you'll all get to see Jessica in concert soon when more dates are announced -- seeing her live is a very special experience. Thank you so much to Jessica and her team for the wonderful opportunity!Podcast Merch: https://ultimate-fangirl-apparel.printify.me/PATREON Subscribers heard this episode completely ad-free! It's a couples episode!!! Join me to relive one of the most iconic on and off screen relationships of the 2000s! Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams met during production of The Notebook and instantly hated each other... so naturally, 2 years later they were madly in love. It's a fine line, people. I explain the on-set drama that lead up to an awkward press tour and eventually their real life romance blooming. I also talk about the impact of The Notebook on all of our lives, what makes the movie so effective, what's great about it and what's not so great. Finally, I share clips and quotes of the two fawning over each other during and after the relationship ended.*Everything in this episode is alleged or my opinion*MERCH: https://ultimate-fangirl-apparel.printify.me/PATREON Subscribers heard this episode completely ad-free! I've made hundreds of episodes about artists i'm hugely passionate about, but never covered my favorite band, Hanson. Why? I have too much to say about how much I love their music and the way they move through life and the industry... and frankly, I wouldn't know where to begin. Since I'm hosting a giveaway of Hanson tickets and meet & greets for a couple of their shows this summer, I figured it was finally the time to attempt it. I hope it's entertaining for die-hard fans who can relate to everything I'm saying as well as my listeners who maybe aren't as familiar. In this episode, I explain why Hanson is one of the most uniquely talented and savvy bands in music history, talking about their early days that turned into worldwide success and ultimately the creation of their own independent label, 3CG Records. I cover three of their most important songs, sharing personal stories as to why they're so meaningful to me and many of their fans as well as recounting some recent exciting experiences I've had with the band. Finally, I give my opinion about the rumors swirling in the fandom that Hanson might be winding down. After 34 years, are they closing shop, or just getting started?ENTER THE HANSON TICKET and MEET & GREET GIVEAWAY by going to the @ashleeandjessicast Instagram or Tiktok and finding the "Hanson Giveaway" video.1.
