amorío: affair

advertirle: to warn

tonto: fool

hermanos Pinzón: It’s speculated that the Pinzón brothers adopted this surname after settling in the port of Palos, from where Christopher Columbus left for America. It is not clear what their original surname was; Martín was one of the options, which is of Jewish origin. Those who claim this recall that Martín is in the name of two of the Pinzón brothers, Martín Alonso and Francisco Martín.
