434 Days Later - Are AI Search Platforms Like ChatGPT and Claude Still Unable To Render JavaScript?
In August of 2025, 434 days ago to be exact, I tested AI Search platforms like ChatGPT and Claude to see how well they could render JavaScript-based content. The results were terrible. So I decided to rerun my testing to see how much the AI Search platforms have evolved since then. You would think that ChatGPT, Claude, and Perplexity would be rendering JavaScript-based content now in order to get a full picture of the content across websites...
In my video, I cover three case studies of sites using JavaScript-based content in various degrees. The results were... terrifying. Each of the AI Search platforms continues to choke on JS-based content. Note, Gemini and Copilot are fine, since they both leverage Google and Bing’s search systems, respectively. That said, there are still times that Gemini and Copilot cannot accurately see JavaScript-based content and I cover that in my video and blog post on the topic.
My hope is that the AI Search platforms evolve over time and start rendering JavaScript-based content. But until then, BEWARE. You can watch my video for all of the details.
