D23 2026: The Resort Loop Roundtable Reacts! [Ep.907]

Steven and Emily are back for Part 2 of their Disney World trip report! This time, we're picking up at Animal Kingdom and following them through the rest of their vacation, including more great food, some favorite attractions, a few unexpected experiences, and plenty of family commentary along the way. They take on Kilimanjaro Safaris, Expedition Everest, Flight of Passage, and Na'vi River Journey before heading to Sebastian's Bistro for a meal that gets a very strong recommendation. We also hear about their first experience with Disney Resort mugs and whether they felt they were worth the money. At Hollywood Studios, they experience Rise of the Resistance, Indiana Jones, and Woody's Roundup Rodeo BBQ. Then it's off to EPCOT for more Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, including a discussion about the different songs, where to sit, and why row 9 might be worth asking for.And there's more! We talk about Extended Evening Theme Park Hours, 'Ohana breakfast, resort hopping, what it's like to be "Disney homeless" on your departure day, and whether a longer Disney vacation is better than trying to cram everything into a short trip.Plus, Steven and Emily continue to prove that the best Disney memories sometimes come from the things that don't go exactly according to plan.Tune in for Part 2 of Steven and Emily's Disney adventure!Looking forward to a Disney Trip?! Our Last-Minute Disney Cruise Adventure Begins! We’re back at Walt Disney World for the beginning of a spontaneous Disney Cruise Line adventure! We’re recording from Disney’s Pop Century Resort after booking a last-minute sailing aboard the Disney Wish. We reserved a guaranteed Navigator’s Verandah, but Disney surprised us with an upgrade to a category 4A stateroom on Deck 11. We’ll be conveniently located near the pool deck, Festival of Foods, Funnel Vision, and—most importantly—the soft-serve ice cream! We also have some exciting personal news to share: Dawn has officially retired from teaching! That means we’ll have more flexibility, more opportunities to travel during the off-season, and hopefully many more Disney adventures ahead. Before beginning our trip, we helped care for Poppins—better known as Poppy—a tiny rescued kitten our daughter adopted. We fell in love with her immediately and share how we helped her eat, gain weight, and become a little more independent. We also talk about our early-morning Breeze Airways flight, our first experience using Mears Connect, and our lunch at Primo Piatto at Disney’s Riviera Resort. We had considered visiting the parks, but the intense Florida heat, storms, travel fatigue, and cost of park-hopper tickets persuaded us to enjoy a quiet afternoon at Pop Century instead. Finally, we look ahead to our return to the Disney Wish, our first time taking Disney transportation to Port Canaveral, and our early plans for the next Resort Loop group cruise! In this episode, we discuss:Booking our Disney cruise only days before sailingHow our guaranteed Disney Cruise Line stateroom workedOur unexpected upgrade from category 7A to category 4AWhy we always book a cabin category we’ll be happy to receiveDawn’s retirement and our future travel plansCaring for an adorable rescued kitten named PoppyFlying Breeze Airways to OrlandoWhy we recommend arriving early for a Breeze flightUsing Mears Connect for the first timeOur lunch at Primo PiattoWhy we decided to skip the parks during the extreme summer heatOur return to the Disney WishOur early plans for the next Resort Loop group cruiseThank you for downloading and listening to ResortLoop.com—the Gateway to the Magic!Booking a guaranteed Stateroom?! The future has caught up to the Carousel of Progress! This week, Dawn and I are talking about one of our all-time favorite Disney attractions as it prepares for its biggest update in decades. With the attraction set to close for a major refurbishment, we wanted to share our honest thoughts before it goes offline. We discuss everything Disney has announced so far, the many questions that still haven’t been answered, and what we’re hoping to see when the attraction returns in 2027.Will the Sherman Brothers’ classic music remain? Could there be a new narrator? Will Disney update the animatronics, the seating, or even the ride system itself? And as two proud children of the ‘80s, we’re especially hoping Disney gets that decade just right!Along the way, we take a nostalgic trip through the history of Carousel of Progress, share some of our favorite memories, and talk about why we believe this refurbishment isn’t just about updating an attraction—it’s about creating nostalgia for a whole new generation of Disney fans.In this episode, we discuss:The history of Carousel of ProgressWhat Disney has announced about the refurbishmentOur biggest unanswered questionsThe new decades and scenes coming to the attractionWhy the 1980s scene means so much to usWhat we’re excited to see—and what we hope Disney doesn’t changeNow we’d love to hear from you! What are you hoping to see in the new Carousel of Progress?
