225: Iceberg

We're back taking a look at another Tenth Doctor novel, this time featuring the Doctor and Rose. Today, John and Kenny discuss The Price of Paradise, which was written by Colin Brake. Colin reveals his unintentional inspiration behind the story, in an in-depth discussion about his 2006 work.

The second of these was The Monsters Inside, written by Steve Cole, who joins us to chat about the experience of something old - and something new. Plus, it's the only novel (that we know of) which has resulted in not only the one reference on TV, but two!

We really got a buzz from doing this episode, on the popular Eighth Doctor Adventures novel Eater of Wasps. Kenny and guest co-conspirator Matt Michael look back at this novel from 2001, and share their dislike of the insects (aka "yellow gits"), and enjoy Trevor Baxendale sharing the origins of the story. Plus, we also feature a reading from the end of the book too!

We've been itching to bring you this episode for months - and here it is! The Cyberleader himself, David Banks, has joined us to chat about writing Iceberg, his New Adventures novel, which was originally published in 1993. Dave and Kenny both fanboy over David, as well as showing their love of his other book, Cybermen, which they both got in 1989.
