Luckily, Lauren was just in a production of the show and was able to answer some questions that this movie left Jon with. Jon also got in touch with Broadway star NaTasha Yvette Williams who was the first replacement for Sofia in the original Broadway production of The Color Purple to talk more about that character and hear NaTasha's journey with the show.
