    In 1921 Joyce completed his most important work 'Ulysses', which was published by Sylvia Beach in 1922. "Ulysses" is considered a psychoanalytic novel. He finally died in Zurich in 1941.

    In 1902, after graduating with a degree. in modern languages, he decided to study medicine in Paris. After that he moved in Dublin where Joyce met Nora, with whom he moved to Trieste.

    James Joyce was one of the most significant writers of the 20th century, even though he was criticised during his career. He was born in Dublin in 1882 into a poor family, he received a Catholic education. The events of these years were re-evoked in his autobiographical novel 'Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man'.
