Space Hauler Found Something In The Void. Hearing What It Is Infects You
Salvage tug captain Curtis Bagley wakes pinned in the wreckage of a freighter he deliberately rammed, with twelve hours of oxygen and three days missing from his memory.
Before the collision, Curtis locked the surviving crew behind sealed bulkheads, destroyed both ships' long-range communications, and injected himself with a drug designed to erase recent memory. He left only a code on his arm and one warning: do not ask them what they found.
Now the Dundee's crew is cutting toward him. They insist they can explain everything. A rescue tender is already inbound. And every fragment Curtis recovers points to the same impossible danger: whatever changed the crew appears to spread through speech, turning discovery into certainty and certainty into a need to tell someone else.
To keep six strangers, and perhaps an entire station, from hearing the wrong thing, Curtis must finish a containment plan he no longer remembers making. But with his own mind under suspicion, even a warning may be another way for the contagion to travel.
