Critters 2 (1988): Because Easter Needed More Violence

Do you remember The Outsiders from 1983? We sure thought we did. Gangs. A bunch of ridiculously handsome future movie stars. A famous book. That's pretty much the entire contents of our memory banks. So we sat down to revisit this classic and answer the important question: How does a movie about violent gangs manage to be remembered for its pretty boys instead of its fights? 

We remember watching Year One and not being particularly impressed. We don't remember hating it, but we don't remember much about it either, and let's be honest, that's almost worse. Was this prehistoric comedy starring Jack Black and Michael Cera really as bad as people said, or is there a reason it has completely vanished from our memories? Join us as we revisit this forgotten 2009 comedy to find out if it deserves a second look... or should stay buried in the Stone Age.

Remember The Untouchables from 1987 starring Kevin Costner & Sean Connery? We remember it being the bee's knees. A real hotsy-totsy gangster picture where every problem could be solved with a quick quip & a Tommy Gun. Every scene is packed with tough mugs, and enough lead flying around Chicago to start a scrap metal shortage. We remember Robert De Niro's Al Capone being one scary palooka, and our good guys trying to clean up the town one wise guy at a time. But is this Prohibition-era classic still the cat's pajamas, or has it gone the way of bathtub gin and twenty-cent cigars? So grab your fedora, tell the coppers to take a hike, and join us as we revisit The Untouchables to find out if this old-time gangster flick still packs a wallop.

Remember Galaxy Quest? The movie sci-fi fans swear is one of the best Star Trek films ever made… despite not actually being Star Trek. Join us as we revisit the cult comedy loaded with an absurdly stacked cast including Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Sam Rockwell, and Tony Shalhoub. We rewatched Firewalker… and yeah, it’s not exactly how we remembered. Action & Adventure? Yes. Budget? Not so much.

Remember Invasion U.S.A. starring Chuck Norris? We don’t remember much of the plot… probably because there isn’t much of one. But we do remember Chuck kicking ass, a ridiculous amount of explosions, and absolutely zero concern for realism, and honestly, isn’t that all you really need in a Chuck Norris movie?

“Easter… but with killer furballs.” Do you remember Critters 2: The Main Course? One of the very few Easter horror movies… for good reason. The eggs hatch, the Critters are back, and somehow the town drunk is now a bounty hunter. We revisit this chaotic 80s sequel to see if it still holds up, or if it should’ve stayed buried in a box down in the basement.

Do you remember Steel Magnolias from the 80s? The cry-inducing Broadway play turned into the ultimate cry-inducing chick flick. Join us as we head back to the late 80s and spend some time with this absolute all-star cast—Julia Roberts, Sally Field, Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis, and Daryl Hannah. Yes, there are men in this movie. No, they do not matter. This is about sitting down, pressing play, and watching these women absolutely unload emotionally as you sit there with a box of tissues, wondering why you signed up for this emotional endurance test.
