In ep 142 of “How Do You Say That?!” sponsored by britishvoiceover.co.uk, Gina Mellotte joins Sam and Mark to talk about to talk about all things promo, imaging and Voice of God. We ask when is a question not a question... wonder what to do with a bad piece of copy... and get a little excited when it turns out murder is afoot. There's also the thorny issue of how to say a date depending on which country you're voicing for!

Our VO question this week is all about radio station imaging around the world, and whether it's changed much over the last decade.

Script 1

Ask yourself how much time it requires for a teacher to create tests designed to assess the understanding of concepts, mark each one individually… identify what concepts have not been understood, and then collate them into groups or levels of understanding. And then, does the teacher have the time to prepare lessons or revise earlier lessons?

With Versa, all of this happens automatically. And it’s presented through an intuitive data visualisation so that tired teachers don’t need to wade through the data.

Script 2

In picturesque towns with cosy gardens, murder is a foot!

Who is hiding?

Who is scheming?

Who’s having tea and spilling the beans?

Who hates who?

And who is next?

Who’s up for a first - class weekend of second guessing?

Whodunnit

Starts Friday August 29

About our guest:

From TV ads to In-store and Big Award Ceremonies - as well as ITV1 continuity and radio station imaging around the world - you'll absolutely know Gina Mellotte's voice. In demand for over 20 years, she's based in Somerset, and hates bigging herself up - so we have to do it for her!

Gina worked in TV production at MTV before the call of the mic... and the list of clients she's worked for reads as a who's-who of companies we'd all like to work for! She's also been the voice of the BAFTA's - both film and TV - so she's no stranger to red carpet events. She's also dabbled at singing in bands - including one at college called The Bitchin' Blues!
