Life After Trauma: You're Not Stupid
Healthy Anger Toolbox S2E7
Please don't believe what they've told you -- you're not stupid.
In this episode, we take the "Deep Dive" into complex childhood trauma, and how it affects your sense of who you are.
Reviewing the blog post of Dr. Glenn Patrick Doyle, who suggests that many people impacted by complex trauma wrongly believe they are stupid due to abusive childhood experiences.
Dr. Doyle says that this belief stems from abusers using the tactic of making survivors feel unworthy and incapable of maintaining control.
Such feelings are a result of the abuser's actions, not a reflection of the survivor's intelligence.
You can be empowered to become more self-accepting and recover by recognizing the falsehood of these instilled beliefs, and changing them.
