In recognition of Cancer Research Month 💜🎗️, we sit down with Dr. Barbara Vanderhyden to reflect on the origins and evolution of the Canadian Conference on Ovarian Cancer Research (CCOCR). What began as a small, ambitious idea in 2001 has grown into a national, multidisciplinary forum bringing together basic scientists, clinicians, epidemiologists, and psychosocial researchers from across Canada.

In this episode, we discuss the importance of collaboration in advancing ovarian cancer research, the role of trainees within this community, and how CCOCR continues to shape research, partnerships, and progress nationwide. We also look ahead to this year’s conference at UBC and what attendees—especially trainees—can expect to take away.
