The UK’s 2050 net zero aim will not happen without a skilled workforce. Now more than ever organisations are looking at how they can train their existing workforce to meet net zero through initiatives such as upskilling, but also externally, using initiatives such as green apprenticeships to encourage young people from STEM backgrounds through the door. To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, this episode will explore how we can lead the way in delivering the skills required to make net zero happen, including best practice examples. Host Jonn Elledge talks to Siobhan Baillie MP, and Yvonne Baker and Dr Graham Herries, Co-Chairs of the Institution of Engineering and Technology's Education and Skills Policy Panel, and interviews Dr Alex Burghart MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Skills.
