Since 2004 the band have released 9 albums including a live album and have toured all over the world. As indie as band can be they have done literally all of it themselves. From designing and printing posters to fixing all the gigs and running PA and lights from the stage. With a career spanning over four decades, he has performed with jazz and rock legends, including Journey, Bryan Adams, Mariah Carey, and Jean-Luc Ponty. Smith has also collaborated with jazz greats like Zakir Hussain, Buddy DeFranco, and Dave Liebman. He has recorded albums that have sold over 100 million copies worldwide. As a band leader, Smith tours with his group Vital Information, which is approaching its 40th anniversary. In 2017, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Steve Smith, a versatile drummer, is known for his modern style rooted in the rich traditions of American music. He began playing at a young age and studied at the Berklee College of Music. Throughout his career, Smith has toured, recorded, and produced music, working with renowned artists such as Hiromi, Benny Golson, and Ahmad Jamal. Currently, he leads his band Vital Information and recently released the album "Time Flies." Smith's contributions to music have earned him global recognition, and he remains a respected figure in both the jazz and rock communities. Darryn became interested in jazz at 14 and eventually studied at the Victorian College of the Arts under the tutelage of his long-time instructor, Frank Corniola. This was followed by individual lessons in the United States with drummers like Marvin 'Smitty' Smith and Joe Morello. Darryn's credits include the drum chair for the popular TV show 'Hey, Hey, It's Saturday,' as well as sessions for film soundtracks, jingles, and albums, as well as tours and performances. Darryn has performed with Tom Jones, Tina Arena, Lou Rawls, The Commodores, Curtis Steigers, Trisha Yearwood, Ruby Turner, Larry Adler, Joe Cocker, Michael Feinstein, Ray Davies (the Kinks), Ernie Watts, B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Jeff 'Skunk' Baxter, Randy Crawford, Eartha Kitt, Justin Robinson, Buddy Greco, Gloria Loring, Roger Daltry, Barry Man. Darryn has also authored two instructional books – Groove Perspectives and The Groove Perspectives Play-along and maintains a busy teaching schedule.
