For most of my life, I carried a deep, visceral belief in my body that I wasn’t safe without a man. It wasn’t a logical thought — it was a felt sense in my nervous system. When my marriage ended, I didn’t just feel sad. I felt like I was going to die.

In this deeply personal episode, I share the generational patterns of codependence I witnessed in the women in my family, how those patterns shaped my nervous system, and the surprising way my healing began. It wasn’t through pushing harder, doing more personal development, or becoming more independent in the way I thought it would be. It came through burnout, surrender, and learning how to finally take care of myself.

I talk about the survival mode many of us live in, the grief that comes with letting go of an identity built on striving and pushing, and the profound freedom that comes from meeting your own needs instead of expecting someone else to rescue you.

If you’ve ever felt desperate for a relationship, clung to someone for safety, or feared being alone, this episode explores how healing begins when you slowly become the one who shows up for yourself.
