2020 has been a year of challenges, in which we have all had to adapt. Our Christmas show has been no exception!
Our adaptation of a vintage radio play, based on the novel by Charles Dickens was planned as a performance in front of a live audience. Sadly, a combination of ties 3 and the sudden illness of one of our group caused us to change our plans. With two days' notice our performance moved online, to zoom, where we have rehearsed, but had not planned to perform!
Making his debut, our 7 year old Tiny Tim, played by Edward, had to adapt to a new "stage father" as Kevin Davies took over from Vic as Bob Cratchit at short notice.
Our live radio performances involve multi layers of audio - voice acting, group ambiance, hand-made sound effects and broadcast sound/music. While zoom is a wonderful alternative platform, its sound processing has its limits, and we quickly (and hilariously) realised our attempts at hand-made sound effects could not be heard!
Therefore, we present our socially -distanced performance of A Christmas Carol (with Silent sound Effects)!
We look forward to being able to perform live, in person before too long, and wish you all a happy and healthy Christmas and new year.
