He also trains church planters through Glocalnet, serves on the executive committee of Texas Baptists, and is an adjunct professor at George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University. His new book, Your Jesus is Too American, he notes that the American church faces a discipleship crisis. Instead of following the values of Jesus, many Christians are chasing after what our culture prizes: power, money, and political influence. Pastor Bob goes through the importance of knowing yourself well during a season of destabilization. He discussed that maturing in life is more of a process than it is an event. Most want a quick secret, a quick Bible verse, a quick fix, do something and I'm changed and it's over. But sometimes, that's not how it works. He walks through how Paul struggled with stress and anxiety – that he writes that he was anxious.
