EP395: BEEN DOWN THIS WAY BEFORE

With safety secured, Nick and Stu relax a little into an unscripted edition of the show, in which where the podcast goes, nobody knows ... Amongst our ramblings, there's talk of the win at Wigan, how subs changed the games, whether certain players are likely to remain with us next year, and how the goalkeeper situation shapes up next term. There's also a look ahead to the final weekend in the third tier: who will take the final relegation place, and which three clubs will join Bolton in the playoffs? Nick and Stu return to deliberate on Wimbledon's prospects of survival, after a sixth consecutive defeat left them just two points above the relegation zone, but with two favourable fixtures remaining. Can our injury-hit and low-on-confidence side get over the line? With Exeter and Burton and Leyton Orient involved in their own mini-league to finish the season, things might be looking okay ... Alongside that, we talk stewards, fan zones, Bonds, and the 2016 promotion-winning side. There's ROFHOG as always, and we take a closer look at the visit to Wigan's BRICK STADIUM, in the hope that their defence is made of Lego.

It is no doubt needed if Wimbledon are to progress as a Football League club, as injuries to the first team squad have once again exposed depth issues, resulting in just one point from the last 12 that have kiboshed any (admittedly very optimistic) play-off chat. How will the season finish from here? Alongside questions about Jake Reeves, Joe Lewis, and Omar Bugiel, we also have the usual talk of the ills of modern football, a look ahead to the Easter weekend games, and a more painful that it should have been edition of ROFHOG.

We review the games with Stevenage, Exeter, Leyton Orient, and Wycombe; mourn the departure of Danilo Orsi; weigh-up the pros and cons of starting Junior Nkeng; and wonder whether our forward options are strong enough.
