Kamala 2028? One Person Close to Her Has Serious Doubts

Join Jim and Greg for this special edition of Last Call, as they remember the greatness of the 1980's. Weeks ago, while promoting a movie, actor Ryan Reynolds called the '80's "brutal" and a "mess" with "division everywhere." That's not how Jim and Greg remember it, so they recall the politics of the 1980's, what they miss from that era, and what they definitely don't miss.First, they focus on the politics of the decade, which means the Reagan presidency. They examine Reagan's electoral triumphs, his good nature, and his greatness in winning the Cold War. They also discuss Reagan's skills as the "Great Communicator" and how the media was different in its approach to news then.Next, they dive into the things they miss about the 1980's, especially the far superior pop culture offerings in film, television, and music. They also savor the freedom they had as kids then and note a critical aspect of childhood in the '80's that can only be appreciated now. Then, they go through the things they don't miss from that decade - much of it either related to less advanced technology or society just being a lot different then. They also examine aspects of the news media they definitely don't want to come back. Finally, Jim and Greg spent a few minutes on the pinnacle of cinematic excellence from the 1980's.Please visit our great sponsors:Trees.comGet additional 20% better plants and better growing at Trees.com using code MARTINI at checkout.Visit https://Trees.com  Now’s the perfect time to plant - let’s grow together.Human CoalitionIt only takes a monthly donation of $26 to create a life-saving moment. Craig Coglianese’s week of guest hosting for Greg Corombos comes to an end with an intriguing report that Supreme Court justice Samuel Alito may be retiring soon, before the Democrats can assume the majority in the U.S. Senate. Craig and Jim Geraghty also note that Vice President JD Vance is getting awkward questions about former ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle, and scratch their heads at the new White House press secretary’s husband previously doing work in North Korea. Craig concludes by revealing he now hears James Talarico and Ken Paxton attack ads in his dreams.Trees.comGet additional 20% better plants and better growing at Trees.com using code MARTINI at checkout.Visit https://Trees.com  Now’s the perfect time to plant - let’s grow together.Human Coalition It only takes a monthly donation of $26 to create a life-saving moment. Craig Coglianese’s week of guest hosting for Greg Corombos continues, and Craig and Jim Geraghty are relieved to hear the execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan will not be livestreamed. Meanwhile, on the campaign trail, Republicans start pulling their money and ad reservations from some key U.S House races, an ominous sign for the GOP in those districts. Elsewhere, they raise their eyebrows at the work of new White House press secretary Katie Zacharia for a law firm in Beijing with close ties to the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese Justice Ministry. Finally, they close by asking how early is too early for early voting.Trees.comGet additional 20% better plants and better growing at Trees.com using code MARTINI at checkout.Visit https://Trees.com  Now’s the perfect time to plant - let’s grow together.Human Coalition It only takes a monthly donation of $26 to create a life-saving moment. Craig Coglianese is in for Greg Corombos, and Craig and Jim Geraghty are surprised to hear Georgia Democratic senator Jon Ossoff say he has no intention of running for president in 2028. A report from the AP suggests that former vice president Kamala Harris is gearing up for a third bid, but her husband may not be such an enthusiastic supporter of the idea. Meanwhile, the news on inflation and the GOP chances of holding the U.S. House is downright bad. Finally, Shane Gillis has done the impossible: he’s got people talking about Saturday Night Live again. Please visit our great sponsors:Trees.comGet additional 20% better plants and better growing at Trees.com using code MARTINI at checkout.Visit https://Trees.com  Now’s the perfect time to plant - let’s grow together.Human Coalition It only takes a monthly donation of $26 to create a life-saving moment. Craig Coglianese is in for Greg Corombos, and Craig and Jim Geraghty find a left-of-center columnist worrying about the odds of Michigan Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed; but Republicans are spending more to back up Nebraska GOP senator Pete Ricketts. Also, Hillary Clinton is returning again, this time as a podcaster. Finally, if you want to run ads to help Susan Collins, make sure you have the right Portland. Ilhan Omar’s, whose home was searched by the Department of Homeland Security.Meanwhile, President Trump announced an energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine, only for Russian forces to strike Ukrainian power plants just hours later. Finally, reports suggest that President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio have had enough of U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle. Finally, Jim and Craig wrap things up with a little football talk as the New York Jets finally get a win. Please visit our great sponsors:Human CoalitionIt only takes a monthly donation of $26 to create a life-saving moment. Welcome to Last Call, a look at the biggest stories Jim and Greg covered over the past week on the 3 Martini Lunch. This week, they discuss New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani unloading on Israel on the three-year anniversary of the Hamas terrorist attacks, another lefty tax scheme blowing up in Dems' faces, new evidence of a deeper Iranian plot against America's presence at a UK military base, and the Ft. Hood terrorist learns when he will be executed.First, they slam Mayor Mamdani, who opened his tweet with an appropriate remembrance of the horrific Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel but then spent much more time addressing what he considers the "genocide," "war crimes," and "apartheid" of Israel. Jim and Greg call out the falsehoods, the ghoulish timing, and how Mamdani's stance is now the position of the vast majority of Democrats.Next, the tackle another left-wing tax embarrassment. The "Mansion Tax" in Los Angeles was supposed to bring in huge revenues and pay for low-income housing. The results have been a laughable failure for Democrats, including both candidates for mayor. Then, they react to the latest reports that the U.S. moved B-1 Bombers from RAF Fairford in the UK because the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was planning a drone attack against planes and personnel there. They also address reports on the IRGC "owning" human trafficking lines into Western Europe and the UK.Finally, they welcome the news that Ft. Hood terrorist Nidal Hasan, who murdered 13 people (plus an unborn baby) and wounded 32 others on base in 2009, will face execution there by firing squad in early December. Please visit our great sponsors:QuoMoney is on the line. Join Jim and Greg for the Friday 3 Martini Lunch as they chronicle Abdul El-Sayed dodging what should be an easy debate question about Iran and Israel, Vice President JD Vance missing the mark when asked to define socialism, the debate over whether the Ft. Hood terrorist's execution should be made public, and more.First, they highlight Michigan Democratic U.S. Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed refusing to say whether he believes Iran or Israel is a bigger threat to the United States. Jim explains how his non-answer tells us a lot. They also remark on how El-Sayed mother became relevant in the campaign last night.Next, they scratch their heads as Vice President Vance defines socialism as the Democrats pushing for boys in girls' sports and globalists importing foreign workers at the expense of job for Americans. While those should be opposed, Jim and Greg define what socialism is and why that matters - especially when we're just a few weeks from Election Day and so many candidates on the left are embracing that label. Then, they wade into the debate over the military announcing the execution of Ft. Hood terrorist Nidal Hasan will be livestreamed. Jim explains why he's conflicted over that move. Greg points out the hypocrisy of so many on the left who are outraged by this decision. Finally, Jim and Greg explain why the podcast will sound a bit different for the next couple of weeks. Please visit our great sponsors:QuoMoney is on the line. Join Jim and Greg for the Thursday 3 Martini Lunch as they discuss Secretary of State Marco Rubio praising and defending Western Civilization, an Islamist terrorism plot against the Mall of America, Democrats pretending to be against boys in girls sports at a politically convenient time, and the coffee shop celebrating the 10/7 Hamas atrocities.First, they applaud Sec. Rubio for explaining the roots of our Western Civilization, the threats facing it from both inside and outside the West, and how we must preserve this amazing heritage of freedom, faith, and prosperity. Jim also notes the mazing optics of the speech in Athens.Next, they breathe a sigh of relief as the FBI arrests the would-be Islamist terrorist who was plotting to shoot up the Mall of America later this month. This is the latest in a series of Islamists planning or trying to execute attacks. Then, they roll their eyes as more Democrats in tight races suddenly announce they aren't in favor of men in women's sports or trans surgeries for children. They're not sincere but will the tactic work? Jim also explains how this move stems from the problems Kamala Harris had in 2024.Finally, the they recoil at the Texas coffee shop openly celebrating the 10/7 Hamas terrorism. Please visit our great sponsors:QuoMoney is on the line. Join Jim and Greg for the Wednesday 3 Martini Lunch as they react to New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani unloading on Israel on the three-year anniversary of the Hamas terrorist attacks, Abdul El-Sayed reportedly scolding Hasan Piker over his radical comments, Maine Sen. Susan Collins exposing the Troy Jackson's ineptitude in the state legislature, and the Ft. Jim and Greg call out the falsehoods, the ghoulish timing, and how Mamdani's stance is now the position of the vast majority of Democrats.Next, they get a kick out of Michigan U.S. Senate hopeful Abdul El-Sayed reportedly telling Hasan Piker that Piker's consistently incendiary comments are hurting the campaign and costing El-Sayed votes. Jim and Greg also roll their eyes as El-Sayed again tries to downplay Piker's many appearances on behalf of El-Sayed earlier this year. Then, they laugh Sen. Collins patiently eviscerates Troy Jackson  for more than 20 years of failure in state government, including the huge numbers of Jackson's bills that Democrats wouldn't even support. Finally, they welcome the news that Ft. Hood terrorist Nidal Hasan, who murdered 13 people (plus an unborn baby) and wounded 32 others on base in 2009, will face execution there by firing squad in early December. Please visit our great sponsors:QuoMoney is on the line.
