Respect over Love

What is truly possible when it comes to healing? Or when desiring change in life? I dare to say almost anything. Our bodies are programmed to heal, and I believe that Life wants to serve us, if we choose to be at service of Life. I am sharing this as someone who literally made a 180-degree turn from only 4 weeks to live to stepping into turned on life and being healed from terminal cancer. So, what if you would choose to lean into life instead of leaning away from life? The choice is yours.

Rest is not a sign of weakness or laziness. In fact, rest is something that everyone should need to prioritize more. Athletes and people who train more than just basic everyday movement, know that there is too kind of rest. Passive and active. And both are needed. Our wicked world has made pushing and being productive 24/7 as something we need to strive for, while the statistics of chronic pain and mental health issues are skyrocketing. When we do not get enough of high quality rest, the oxidative stress, hormonal imbalances and inflammation are issues we are welcoming in to be a part of our every day reality. If You struggle with your health and wellbeing on any plane, rest should be something to prioritize. Rest is one of the most important things for nervous system regulation, right next to nourishment, hydration, body awareness and control, safe relationships and economics. Rest is and should be as important piece of self-care as physical, and mental training or taking care of your hygiene. It's time to trash that belief that rest is a waste of time. Now, Let's chat!

Too often, we miss out to see our bodies as whole. When we experience pain, we blindly focus on that pain area and can not see that there are important missing pieces. Often and I want to highlight OFTEN, the problem with pelvic and lower back region, is at the very foundation; in our feet. Yes, in our feet! September is the month of Suicide Awareness. As I do honor my roots and where I come from, I want to speak about choosing to exit life and choosing life. Suicides are a heavy package we have been carrying in our family for generations. I am openly sharing my own experiences growing up with this topic openly on the table, shadowing my sense of safety and how this has been coloring the way I have navigated life. Suicides are very often a shameful trade that runs in families. While I want to highlight that the shame is as much a generational burden as the act of suicide itself. As I have been experiencing deep suicidal periods myself, I do want to share that the shame is not ours to carry, it is a shame that we lack the necessary support networks to lean into; that do not shame or gaslight. In the end of this episode, I share some of the tools that has been helpful for me and many of my peers struggling with deep levels of anxiety and suicidal thoughts.
